The other day a senior editor brilliantly observed, "Teens read to become fans." And this...yes, this feels so true to me, and I love it. Give me your books that kids and teens will want to cosplay as. Give me your fandom-inspiring tales. #MSWL

“For me, literary fiction lives and dies in its characters and writing, send me your complex, diverse characters grappling with what it means to be human something in the vein of Tom Rachman’s THE IMPERFECTIONISTS.” @maureen_moretti #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/

We need more standalone YA that is short and engaging. Some teens love the long, speculative fiction trilogies that seem to dominate the market, & I’m here for that. But many teens are over programmed and/or find reading challenging. If we want teens to read, we need more 4 them.Yes, please. #mswl

@jamerrson What themes, topics, styles, etc. excite you right now for picture books? #askagentIs it fair to say everything? If I had to choose, non-fiction is most exciting to me right now, and I’m especially looking for some climate/environment related stuff. But I always love funny pbs. #MSWL

the discussion about the lack of upper MG & lower YA has me thinking about how little I see experiences like my middle school days in fiction...when I was13-14 most ppl were not sexually active but ppl were absolutely making sex jokes and I feel like MG mostly sanitizes that

#MSWL I'd love to see more timely and topical MG nonfiction! Climate, immigration, women's rights, sexual identity, economics, as well as books on role models. Plus fun nonfiction on topics kids love, like animals and weird science and history!

One of my favorite thrillers is Butterfly Effect (dont @ me!). And I'd love to have a YA with similar themes. Of course, I'd love any YA/NA psychological thrillers. #mswl
