Where are my joyful stories featuring #POC characters? Diversity pls! Black, Latinx, Asian, Indian, Native American, etc. This term gets read over a lot in my #MSWL’s. For those who don’t know, POC refers to the term "person of color” & describes any person NOT considered white.

Where is my ya contemporary story of a black male gymnast’s rise to glory? #MSWL

Lastly, until I think of more, definitely send me MG STEM-infused plots and POC characters and boys who are allowed to feel/girls who are smart and capable and sassy. Truly looking for tons of GN in the MG sphere #amagenting #querytip

would also LOVE dark GN with creatures from lesser known legends/cultures

on that note, give me historical GN! Give me time periods in new places with new people and their part in that event. I'd love POC and how they affected certain wars/spy networks/etc. #amagenting #querytip

In anticipation of my trip to New Orleans, one thing on my #mswl is almost any kind of book about the American South. Southern Gothic, romance, non-fiction, horror etc. Especially written by/about people of color. (Also open to already published book recommendations!)

Soooo I'm just going to pop in to say that a Sisterhood of Traveling Pants like friendship story with an all queer and/or POC cast of character has been on my #mswl for aaaawhile.

Watching Shrill just reminds how desperately I need some POC plus sized protags in my YA and MG #mswl

Where is the YA and Adult horror featuring queers and BIPOC (and def QTPOC!!!) in my inbox? #mswl

Julia P. McCarthy @thejumbles · Feb 12

Hello! I am on the hunt for a dark, magical YA that has elements of romance but is more largely focused on Some Grand Mystery/Threat, in the vein of Chime or The Witch of Blackbird Pond. Gimme that spooky, transportive grit, especially if it’s from a BIPOC perspective! #MSWL

I turned 30 (!!!) last weekend, an occasion I'm seizing to share my #MSWL this year:
- sweeping YA romance
- ✨queer magic✨
- savvy, commercial MG fantasy
- joyful queer & POC stories
- & POC authors with something to say
- emotional contemporary MG
- cozy af graphic novels
