• Stories about (non-anthropomorphic) animals, human-animal bonds, nature & high-stakes survival
• Select author-driven nonfiction, primarily with a radical, social justice–oriented focus—think prison abolition, open borders, union organizing, anarchy, socialism
I am still looking for my womxn-in-the-outdoors book! Camping, hiking, survival, etc! But give me something more to dig my teeth into - how is this story in conversation with our world today? How will it stand out from other books in its genre? #MSWL
...Stories of Black joy (any age), funny, escapist YA, forced proximity survival stories (stranded on an island? plane crash in the mountains? snowed in? Any age. I loved Baby Island AND Six Days, Seven Nights) 4/
Emily S. Keyes 😷 @esc_keyWatching the History Channel show ALONE. Reminds me I still looking for a female survival story (MG preferable but YA also maybe). Like MY SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN or HATCHET. #mswl
Or maybe like CASTAWAY. This idea of being alone for so long is particularly interesting to me now. #mswl
Here is my #mswl darleyandersonblog.com/2020/02/25/mee… Generally, outside of crime, things that are uplifting & are about finding/making connections. High concept, feel-good, love stories. And across children's uplifting again, funny, things inspired by kindness and nature.
As well as #ownvoices and stories set outside the United States. I want stories of survival and grief and characters who overcome obstacles. Ah, who am I kidding? I just want a good book to lose myself in. #MSWL
Rutger Bregman @rcbregmanThe real Lord of the Flies: what happened when six boys were shipwrecked for 15 months
Adapted from my new book HUMANKIND -->
This is such an incredible story of survival, friendship, and a HEA?! Love it.
Add this to my #MSWL.
This pandemic is hitting all of us differently on an emotional level, I know, but it's kind of making me crave stories about people worse off than we are... Does this make me a bad person?
Even so, I'd love to see more apocalyptic survival stories in my submissions box! #mswl
For our third and final children's book agency Meet the Team post, we meet @LitAgentClare 🌟Clare is on the lookout for new and exciting talent, so head over to our blog for her manuscript wish list 👀 #MSWL
#MSWL: YA comedic post-apoc survival novel where they assemble a team to survive:
1 to drive a stick shift
1 who can read a map
1 who can read “ancient scripts” (Cursive. I’m talking about cursive)
1 who can use a land line
A “math genius” who can do basic math w/o a calculator.
I'd love a survivalist horroresque novel or survivalist dystopian YA. Think Wilder Girls by Rory Power! Give me off the grid islands, plagues, a trip gone gone wrong, the end that begins as a whisper.
