Emily S. Keyes 😷 @esc_keyWatching the History Channel show ALONE. Reminds me I still looking for a female survival story (MG preferable but YA also maybe). Like MY SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN or HATCHET. #mswl
Or maybe like CASTAWAY. This idea of being alone for so long is particularly interesting to me now. #mswl
Here is my #mswl darleyandersonblog.com/2020/02/25/mee… Generally, outside of crime, things that are uplifting & are about finding/making connections. High concept, feel-good, love stories. And across children's uplifting again, funny, things inspired by kindness and nature.
As well as #ownvoices and stories set outside the United States. I want stories of survival and grief and characters who overcome obstacles. Ah, who am I kidding? I just want a good book to lose myself in. #MSWL
This pandemic is hitting all of us differently on an emotional level, I know, but it's kind of making me crave stories about people worse off than we are... Does this make me a bad person?
Even so, I'd love to see more apocalyptic survival stories in my submissions box! #mswl
For our third and final children's book agency Meet the Team post, we meet @LitAgentClare 🌟Clare is on the lookout for new and exciting talent, so head over to our blog for her manuscript wish list 👀 #MSWL
#MSWL: YA comedic post-apoc survival novel where they assemble a team to survive:
1 to drive a stick shift
1 who can read a map
1 who can read “ancient scripts” (Cursive. I’m talking about cursive)
1 who can use a land line
A “math genius” who can do basic math w/o a calculator.
I'd love a survivalist horroresque novel or survivalist dystopian YA. Think Wilder Girls by Rory Power! Give me off the grid islands, plagues, a trip gone gone wrong, the end that begins as a whisper.
#MSWL update! Still looking for some good #horror and other creepy stories and mysteries. In #fantasy would love something not focused on royalty/rebellions to round out my list. Would love some survival stories along the lines of Dry or I Am Still Alive.
For those #amquerying I remain open to queries. Genres high on my #mswl for 2019 in adult and YA include horror, historical fantasy, chilling mysteries, and tense stories about survival. In nonfiction would love some weird or fun history.
In #sciencefiction wouldn't mind a space survival or new planet survival story. Think Adrift by Rob Boffard or Semiosis. Love stories about crashing or landing on unknown planets and the early days of colonization or the journey. #MSWL
I'm still searching for my MG survival story! Please send me your shipwrecks, deserted islands, mountains, forests, jungles, deep sea diving, lost in the big city, kayaking, camping trips gone wrong, treasure hunts… I'll take them all! #mswl
