New adult is not a dead genre in traditional publishing. Some publishers even have New Adult-only imprints. Like Entangled :)
And some people there, like me, are hella thirsty for more New Adult. Especially ff. #mswl, my dudes 😎👉🏼👉🏼
ellen @ellencormierMG or YA speculative fiction that's as sharp, funny, and layered as #RussianDoll. Something that uses the speculative element to say something, not just as a cool hook #mswl
Yes. This. #MSWL
Jessica Khoury @jkbibliophileOne day I’ll write about a pragmatic, ordinary small-town girl who accidentally ends up as manager/den mother to a group of emotionally defunct superheroes who can barely save anyone, and how her earthy determination, relentless optimism, and pecan pies save them (and the world).
This but a MG/YA graphic novel!!! Make my year and land it in my inbox please? 😍 #MSWL
Jenny "MERMAID INN on preorder sale" Holiday @jennyholiCan someone pls write me a Regency called EARLS’ TRIP in which a group of earlfriends goes on a trip to Scotland and encounters a couple feeling to marry in Gretna Green and somehow our hero ends up marrying the lady instead? @kellybowen09? @meganf? Anyone?
Ronald S. Hall @TheSpecterRises@NaomisLitPix As a literary agent when you look at query letters, i.e. YA query letter, are there keywords that really stand out to you that peaks your interest in potential manuscript? Cheers.
Hi Ronald! I think for me, it's the overall whole package that catches my interest rather than keywords in the query. But of course if I see my #MSWL comp titles or an #ownvoices story it does catch my eye.
Hi #amquerying, I have an urgent #mswl that needs to be addressed...
I am seriously lacking anything and everything in the contemporary fiction space. Romance, Realistic (nonissue books), WF, RomCom, high concept book! I need them in MG, YA, and Adult categories.
I am still thinking about how THE PERFECTION & BLACK SWAN so creepily captured what it's like to take a passion too seriously. (I was a ballet dancer for 18 years, & BLACK SWAN was shockingly familiar.) I'd love a YA/adult horror novel about a dark obsession with the arts. #MSWL
“With non-fiction I want to learn something by accident, tell me a good story in a fun new way that keeps me thinking. I really enjoyed Carlo Rovelli’s SIX BRIEF LESSONS ON PHYSICS.” @maureen_moretti #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/
Seeking bold, fresh, literary #specfic #scifi with a strong feminist lean like Naomi Alderman's THE POWER @NaomiAllthenews, Lidia Yuknavitch's BOOK OF JOAN @LidiaYuknavitch, Sophie Mackintosh's THE WATER CURE @fairfairisles. See how to query me in my bio. #mswl
Seeking groundbreaking, mind-changing #history, #politics, #currentaffairs for a trade audience (general reader) or trade/UP crossover audience. See my bio for how to send me your material. Looking forward to hearing from you. Please do share! #twitterstorians #mswl
A book I need as a parent but doesn't exist to my satisfaction so I'm going to add it to my #mswl with the hopes of one day representing it! Please send me a non-lame, super clever, commercial picture or board book for toddlers transitioning from a crib to a bed.
Jhanteigh Kupihea @jhanteighHey so the bare bulb over the haunted boy painting in the Airbnb I usually stay at in Philly has been dimming and brightening every night this week and I just realized he was 100% bricked up behind this wall in 1957, wasn’t he pic.twitter.com/ue07M7AMjy
rachel syme @rachsymestill don't understand where my limited series about the years cary grant and randolph scott lived together as "roommates" is pic.twitter.com/J5E2fzODMf
OMG. This is great. I need a historical about Cary Grant and Randolph Scott in love. #MSWL
