STEM

In upmarket fiction, I’m looking for precise angles:
> Period pieces with women breaking into lively professions (think TV or comedy a la I Love Lucy).
> Women in S.T.E.M
> Anything geeky but accessible
> Gender fluid, masc. of centre, and non-binary protagonists. #MSWL

It's #MSWL day! (pt. 2) (Children's Fiction)

My door will always be open to picture books, running the gamut.
Fiction, non-fiction, funny, heartwarming, STEM, arts, anything. #MSWL

My number 1 #MSWL wish is for general nonfiction that teaches while it entertains. Have an obsession? Teach me about something I don't know!

Common winners: Creepy history, unsolved mysteries, common science topics with a twist (Space + X; STEM + X), folklore

@nfrail17 Hi Nicole! I feel silly, but can you clarify the phrase "project-based nonfiction" for us (me)? :)

Replying to @RonnieKStephens

Sure! Full of projects. Step-by-step instructions, photos or illustrations. Crafts, gardening, drawing, cooking. How-to. Anything STEM/STEAM related is great for kids too.

Also, for kids, non-project is fine too, like mental and emotional health journals/workbooks. #MSWL

I’m really hungry for #MG stories where the protagonist uses #STEM in badass and witty ways. Gimme? Query me. #mswl

#MSWL Would love to find women's fiction, thrillers and Middle Grade submissions that incorporate popular science and STEM themes. Love richly evocative stories that have a strong sense of the natural world.

YA romcoms are my jam. Always have been. I want to see more STEM, fun jobs, and unique hobbies. DON’T DATE ROSA SANTOS, WHEN DIMPLE MET RISHI, ROYALS, and ALEX, APPROXIMATELY are perfect examples of voice, humor, and substance in contemp YA romcoms! #mswl

Kristine Swartz @KristineESwartz · Apr 18

I’d love to get in more Women’s/General fiction! Here’s my current #MSWL: Multicultural stories; Women in STEM; High-concept historical; Millennial characters/themes; or Queer fiction. Can be a combination of any of the above.

Masha Gunic @masha_gunic · Apr 17

As a huge astronomy buff myself, and in lieu of the first image of a black hole being released, I would love to get some more #YA and #MG submissions with characters who have a passion for fields in STEM. THE LAST TIME WE SAY GOODBYE is a perfect example of this #MSWL #amagenting

It’s #piday! I’d love to see more STEM MG & YA in my inbox ☺️ #mswl

Where's my STEM novel about a teen "citizen scientist" who is busy studying insects in their neighborhood... and stumbles upon a massive breakthrough / problem / new species / etc. Send me this. xerces.org/citizen-scienc… #MSWL
