-**we can fight climate change y’all**
-queer MC on an adventure, heist, terrible sports team etc (tho plot not necessarily about their queerness)
-STEM/STEAM threads
-joyful/frivolous/funny stories that center kids from marginalized backgrounds
-dogs, horses & sassycats (3/7)

#MSWL Anyone have a YA or middle-grade fiction manuscript that focuses around an extreme sport? Would love to get into the head of a daredevil protagonist!

Peter Knapp @petejknapp · Jan 7

Regardless of genre, some themes and subjects I love: family history/family identity; regret; sibling relationships; break-ups/romance gone sideways; extracurricular activities (such as sports, plays, mock trial), stories about letting go of shame, etc. #mswl

What's on @HolidayHouseBks #MSWL? Sports books, nonfiction in general, inclusive speculative YA fiction, middle grade, especially humorous. I personally also love doll and dollhouse books.

I finally updated my #MSWL page on my website:

I'm still closed to queries, but take a look and if your book fits, query me after January 13th! :)

@chavelaque What subject would you like to see more books about?

A PB on the Atlanta washerwoman’s strike, or Pullman porters, or the Chicano rights movement; MG novels starring boys of color doing sports; MG or YA NF on topics of POC history #mswl

When this player's hijab started falling off to reveal her hair, her opponents gathered around to provide cover while she fixed it.
This is our mood today.
When one of us needs us: We stop. We huddle up. We protect each other.
I love the soccer. I love women.

#MSWL everything about this. All the girl power in everything but especially in sports. And girls banding together instead of seeing each other as the enemy. I know HS And MS girls can be mean, but they can also be loving, supportive, and empowering, and that’s what I wanna see.

Not a sports book, but main characters and/or love interests who play sports. Sports aren't queer, per se, but queer folks who play sports are hot and we NEED MORE IN YA #mswl Look, ultimate frisbee is GAY AS HELL - where's the book with that love interest?

Erin Casey @erin_michelle_C · 24 Sep 2019

Replying to @erin_michelle_C

Also give me more sports books! Especially queer ones! With literary writing and imagery and beautiful characters. But also nothing gets my heart racing like the seconds ticking down at the end of a game (any type of game!) and genuinely not being sure of the outcome #MSWL

#MSWL Team sports in middle grade and YA. Would especially LOVE a high school girls team with a few main characters. But I'm also a sucker for Friday Night Lights...

Katie Greenstreet @ktgreenst · 24 Sep 2019

Sympathetic psychopaths, cult-y fiction, campus novels of all stripes, books tied to an unfamiliar professional world (ballet/restaurants/sports), upmarket #metoo novels, political conversation starters (a la American Marriage or The Mothers), a romcom with a fresh hook... #mswl

It’s almost the end of August (😱)... so here are a few things I’d love to see in my inbox this fall:

- MIDDLE GRADE! (Specifically: queer and/or gender-expansive narratives; girls in sports; and still forever searching for my dream CAMP book & animal fantasy.) #mswl

As we approach Sept, let me just publicly declare: I’m all onboard with the spooks. Murder mysteries, ghost stories, what have you. BUT. My main focus is still an engaging, funny voice and an examination of some kind of culture (geographic, hobby, sport, familial, etc.) 👻 #MSWL

Jessica Reino @JNRlitauthor · 7 Aug 2019

For #nonfiction I love learning new things when written in an engaging way. I’m interested in pop culture, health&wellness, sports, parenting, and humor books #mswl
