My Christmas wish is to have a YA werewolf story in which the werewolf is a girl and it's also gay. #MSWL

#amquerying writers, I'm going to dedicate time over the holidays to read submissions, so now is a great time to query!

I'm eager to find more middle grade, from contemporary standalones & illustrated MG to sweeping adventure & fantasy series. I'd love more YA contemp & grounded YA fantasy or "twist of magic" stories, too. And YA paranormal (I'm here for your vampires & werewolves) #mswl

It's that time of year when I'm really in the mood for cozy mysteries. I'd be really excited to see a contemporary YA or upper MG that has diverse characters, a playful, intriguing hook, and isn't dark or super serious--like Goldie Vance / Scooby Doo / Hallmark level drama. #MSWL

I hope people understand that when agents post #MSWL wishes that's not the only kind of projects they represent. You all do know that, right? For example, many of my clients don't write any of the things I'm asking for. That's why I want them!

I want my list to be balanced with PBs, CBs, MGs, YAs. Some serious, some not; some weird & quirky, some chock full of muggles; some lighthearted, some deep & thinky. And there are all the things I don't know I want until I get them. #MSWL

I’m looking for more plot-driven contemporary fiction (realistic, magical realism, or fantasy) for adults, YA or MG or a graphic novel set in New York, Florida, California, Dallas, Houston, Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Maddison, San Juan, Seattle or Vancouver #mswl

Is it possible for a #YA mystery to be not scary or spooky or have a murder in it? Maybe even funny? I'd like to read that. A story where I'm trying hard to figure out who done something (nonviolent). #MSWL

I get a lot of Ashkenazi Conservative/Orthodox submissions, which is FINE but send me #mg & #YA novels with casual Judaism too & w/all kinds of representation like Jewish people of color; Sephardim; Mizrahi; Reconstructionist & reform; non-affiliated or practicing; atheist. #MSWL

I probably don't need to say this, but I will: I want ALL THE QUEER THINGS™️in both #MG and #YA Realistic contemporary, historical, speculative fiction, light fantasy, light scifi, mystery, romance, etc... #MSWL

Is it possible to have a #MG or #YA story about a popular kid where that's ok? I know so many of us book people felt like oddballs as kids, but what about a popular kid who's not a jerk, not getting bullied, not mean? Things HAPPEN to everyone. We all have challenges. #MSWL

I'd love to see a #mg or #YA novel with art & art museums or something historical including artists. Like Girl w/a Pearl Earring for kids or something like that? Something at the British Museum? The Louvre? Wouldn't that be awesome? #MSWL

Linda Epstein @LindaEpstein · 6d

I've asked for this before, but I'm DYING for a #YA or #MG novel set in the Jewish Ghetto in Shanghai, preferably written by someone who's connected w/that history. It's the only kind of WW2 novel I want to read, tbh. #MSWL

I am particularly looking for realistic contemporary and romcom #YA from #POC. I want love stories (straight & not); sister or brother stories; stories about finding oneself or finding a best friend. I want to really feel the setting, too. #MSWL

As the cold and the holidays are upon us, I’m craving some #feelgoodfood for #feelgoodFriday, and this recipe for ex-boyfriend latkes by Molly Yeh is calling to me! Could be a fun #YA novel feature, no? #MSWL

#MSWL: YA comedic post-apoc survival novel where they assemble a team to survive:
1 to drive a stick shift
1 who can read a map
1 who can read “ancient scripts” (Cursive. I’m talking about cursive)
1 who can use a land line
A “math genius” who can do basic math w/o a calculator.
