Cozy mystery

Carrie Pestritto @literarycarrie · Jan 13

I'm building out the adult side of my list in 2020, so if you have an exciting, fresh #romance, #WomensFiction, #cozymystery, #thriller, #suspense, or narrative #nonfiction project, PLEASE SEND IT TO ME!!! #mswl

Before I open to queries tomorrow:
- Please don't send queries for a first draft. The MS doesn't need to be perfect, but it should be polished.
- Please don't send me queries for SF/F, PNR, or Historical anything.
- Please send a #query for a polished MS in the following:
#MSWL

Erica @LiteraryErica · 12 Dec 2019

- Cozy Mysteries with series potential (75k+ words, please include a brief series outline/synopsis in your query)

- Psychological & Legal Thrillers with series potential (80k+words, please include a brief series outline/synopsis in your query)

- Romance (50k-90k words)

📚 For writers who are trying to plan for 2020 querying here is my wishlist 📚

Before you send a query to me (or any agent): Please make sure you have polished your manuscript. It should have been critiqued/beta read/something of that nature before sending it to me. (1/6)

It's that time of year when I'm really in the mood for cozy mysteries. I'd be really excited to see a contemporary YA or upper MG that has diverse characters, a playful, intriguing hook, and isn't dark or super serious--like Goldie Vance / Scooby Doo / Hallmark level drama. #MSWL

Dana Chidiac @chidiaqian · 5 Dec 2019

Does there exist a YA heist/cozy mystery entitled Be Gay Do Crimes? If not, dibs.

(also every idea i have these days is actually just a meme #mswl)

Many things put me in the mood for murdery reading, but it's especially true when the weather gets cold. Send me all your murder books! Your contemporaries, your historicals, your cozies, your true crime. #MSWL

I have seen and experienced the sheer perfection of Knives Out, and you bet I’m now craving an Agatha Christie-esque cozy YA mystery in a creaky ol’ house complete with a b-i-g dose of social commentary #mswl

I'm super in the mood for more cozy mysteries, especially those with paranormal or historical elements, and/or queer protagonists. #MSWL

I am always looking for cozy mysteries with a female protagonist. I especially like unique themes. I am also looking for a Rom-Com that will keep me laughing. I love Amish Romances (or Mysteries) as well. Looking forward to reading your queries. blueridgeagency.com #MSWL
