Linda Epstein @LindaEpsteinHere's the deal: I'll be open to queries from April 1st - June 30th. If I've specifically told you to send me something sooner, then send it sooner (for example the #highlightsjewishkidlit peeps). I'll do a #mswl thread within the next few days. Please RT & let your friends know!
When I open in April, I am looking for MG & YA stories featuring Jewish main characters, by Jewish authors, including realistic contemporary, fantasy, sci-fi, LGBTQ+, romcoms, secular stories, spiritual stories, & especially stories from Jewish people of color. #MSWL
Dan Vo @DanNouveauAlexander II of Russia assassinated #OTD 1881. Alexander III became Emperor and placed most trust in his brother Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, who stood "at the top of the homosexual pyramid" of Russia (there were at least 7 gay grand dukes at the time) #QueerVAM #YearOfQueers pic.twitter.com/4oSIGHCkdO
I'm preparing to reopen to queries next week and wanted to share my current #mswl:
Contemporary Fantasy in the vein of the films About Time and Your Name
Diverse MG like Aru Shah and the End of Time and Amina’s Voice
Foodie Magic like Chocolat and Garden Spells
So if someone has a feminist YA Purim retelling or a queer Vashti/Esther story (must be YA), definitely send it to me! Doesn't matter that I'm closed to queries right now. I want to see it! Submission guidelines are here: emeraldcityliterary.com/lindaepstein/ #MSWL #amwriting #WritingCommunity
Also with nonfiction, I am on the lookout for stories that raise awareness regarding social issues, particularly in the area of LGBTQIA+ rights and undoc. immigrants/dreamers. These are two issues very close to my heart and I will fight tooth and nail to advocate for them. #mswl
Amy M. Miller @AmyMMiller1@inthesestones I see you're open to picture books. Yay! Do you have PB preferences you can share? Your MSWL is detailed for MG and YA, but not PBs. Thanks so much.
This is hard—I'm still figuring out what really trips my trigger. #AntiMSWL, no rhyming books. On the #MSWL side: I love message-centric that don't come across as preachy. Laugh-out-loud funny is always a want. I'd kill for my own JACK (NOT JACKIE) or something with LGBT-themes!
