I've been seeing more aspec characters in YA, which is great! But now I'd really love to see more in books that decentralize romance. I want more of this in YA in general, but particularly with ace/aro characters. #mswl

I have been rereading CODE NAME VERITY for the first time since my initial flurry of passion for it, and I still have the same reaction: good Jesus Christ what a VOICE.

My #mswl always includes historical fiction, but I want to have *this* reaction to it. I want a voice that's vibrant and ALIVE, that feels immediately like a person I could know, that makes the quiet parts feel intimate and the stakes feel personal.

~my specialty~

I also have one about an emotionally obtuse girl and the pretty girl who loves her, and I want more! #mswl

In adult, I'm mainly looking for SFF & historical, especially the kind that's both gripping & intimate. I want a really deep dive into a character's (or community's) emotional journey. #mswl

Real faceclutchers - you know, the kind of book where you have so many feelings you have to hold onto your face to keep it together. #mswl

In MG & YA, I'm focusing on high-concept contemporary that's sweet, funny, and layered, the kind of book that deals with a couple different kinds of relationship including the MC's feelings about themselves. #MSWL

In ANNE OF WINDY POPLARS, Anne goes to a wedding & accidentally-on-purpose reunites the cranky sister of the bride with her childhood sweetheart, who *sails across the bay at 2AM.*

#MSWL that YA/lit novel.

Replying to @bredalot

Give me the crankypants heroine who always says the wrong thing, the kindhearted boy who always makes her laugh, the fight that tore them apart, & the light in the attic that brings them back just before it sours forever. #MSWL

#MSWL YA fake-relationship stories, please! They are so contrived but also my kryptonite.

Since everyone is #mswl-ing their favorite tropes! I LOVE fake relationships, whether they turn real or fall apart spectacularly.

#mswl Now that I'm full on the Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan train, give me some space stories that feel like SHARDS OF HONOR.
