Has somebody written the YA book about the kid who is the president of their school’s GSA for 3 years before they take notice that they themselves are not straight? It seems like too common a scenario to miss in the teen literary canon. If you know of this, please tell Emmet (and me!); if not, #mswl.

Cannot stop thinking about Numair as a messy young bisexual at Wizard College, about 70% as charming & 50% as confident as he will eventually be, getting way too good at magic way too fast & meeting future ex-boyfriend/minor prince Ozorne & making Carthak too hot to hold him. This is partly an adult #mswl & partly something that I can only wish for because the context of what comes later adds so much, but still, I want to read this book.

Watching The Half of It again, and gosh I love this movie so much. [When I re-open to queries] send me ALL the YA with this exact vibe. #mswl

Speaking of which, if anyone sends me a YA that feels like HBO's GENTLEMAN JACK, it's possible I'll die of happiness #MSWLAlso, as Stephanie says: yes, send this to me, please & thank you. #mswl

In adult, I am particularly looking for SFF! I'm currently excited about fun voicey space books, epic fantasy set in original and well-defined worlds, and fantasy that turns a familiar trope on its head. #mswl

Literary Agent
I am craving some gorgeously weird YA fantasy as well! Particularly something contemporary-ish. #mswl

I'm also really into YA stories that take a romance structure/trope and use it to construct a fantastic friendship story (a la FOOLISH HEARTS, an enemies-to-BFFs contemp). #mswl

My clients have pointed out that I've got a specific subset of YA Nerd Girl Romance, and I am always here for more! Queer & POC girls very welcome, and I'm more likely to be won over by the romance if it intersects with other themes - family, friendship, self-discovery. #mswl

Homeopathy is obviously fake but swallowing pieces of the Berlin Wall to break down one's own emotional barriers is astonishingly poetic and the beginning of a GREAT SFF story. theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/s…Hello yes if you (someone who is not Sarah, who is represented by my MORTAL ENEMY) write this book, please send it to me, I am extremely into turning history into magic and also all the weight attached to ancient buildings. #mswl

I wrote last summer about a genre of fantastic art that emerged a few years ago (and has since exploded) and what that might say about our era. I dubbed it “Encountering the Old Gods.” The original gallery was quite large. Here are a few more.rickwayne.blog/2018/07/20/enc… pic.twitter.com/EuOuSeGNaH

I know there's a lot going on in the world but I can't believe I missed that the king of Thailand MARRIED HIS BODYGUARD. washingtonpost.com/world/2019/05/…Oh my GOD I want this SFF novel. The king marries his bodyguard IN SPACE! The king marries his bodyguard WITH SWORDS! #mswl

I've been seeing more aspec characters in YA, which is great! But now I'd really love to see more in books that decentralize romance. I want more of this in YA in general, but particularly with ace/aro characters. #mswl

I have been rereading CODE NAME VERITY for the first time since my initial flurry of passion for it, and I still have the same reaction: good Jesus Christ what a VOICE.My #mswl always includes historical fiction, but I want to have *this* reaction to it. I want a voice that's vibrant and ALIVE, that feels immediately like a person I could know, that makes the quiet parts feel intimate and the stakes feel personal.

Where is my novel set entirely on Themyscira with absolutely no dudes appearing in any one of its 400+ glorious pages please publishing I could really use it right about nowSerious #mswl. Themyscira is licensed, of course, but I would very much love to read some novels that just do not see any reason to include a single man on the page.
