Kody Keplinger @Kody_KeplingerDoes anyone else ever look at a classic love story or myth and think 'I want this, only gay"?
Example: Hades and Persephone....but LESBIANS
If you could queer any classic romance/myth/fairytale, what would it be?
Carole V. Bell @BellCV“Romantic comedies take our primal hunger to connect with one another and give it a story. And at their best, they do much more: They make you believe in the power of communion.”—
Wesley Morris’s excellent rumination on a criminally undervalued genre. nyti.ms/2W2sQl3
Now that we as a nation have accepted that romcoms are amazing, I'm putting out a call: Agents, please send me all the fantastic YA novel or graphic novel romcoms you have! Especially keen for projects from LGBTQIA/POC creators 💫💫💫 #MSWL #YA #GN
It's only been forever and a day but I finally updated my #MSWL profile! Now including select genres of narrative non-fiction — and basically send me all your queer fiction or creepy, lyrical middle grade books! manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/moe-…
Ruoxi Chen @jruoxichenthrow in some “years later, the past creeps in through the window for her when Rosalind appears needing money to fund a hit on an unworthy husband & they definitely make out while discussing assassin logistics” & I’m at when can I buy your manuscript twitter.com/bylostways/sta…
ICYMI for the Monday crowd. a day later, any version of this is still firmly on my #MSWL
& in general: more f/f fantasy where the main pairing has a complicated history & maybe they're escaping narratives that weren't worthy of them please
I don’t get a lot of nonfiction in my inbox, but I would love to see more. Especially for YA & MG. I like baseball, sports in general, food, cooking, baking, lgbt+ studies, and little known women of history. Please send me more NF! #mswl
I’d love to get in more Women’s/General fiction! Here’s my current #MSWL: Multicultural stories; Women in STEM; High-concept historical; Millennial characters/themes; or Queer fiction. Can be a combination of any of the above.
Shaun 🏳️🌈 Preorder Brave Face @ShaunieDarkoQueer books can be light and funny and still be important. Queer books don't have to focus on queer pain to matter.
These are the books I love across MG (especially!) and also YA. #MSWL
Jill Gutowitz @jillboardMore people should be talking about this: 'Gentlemen Jack,' a lesbian period drama series, is out April 22 on HBO. It follows Anne Lister, a real lesbian landowner in the 1800s, in her pursuit of finding a wife when female queerness was simply unheard of. It's must-see gay TV.
1. This is the first time I've heard of this!! Thank you for doing the Lord's work!
2. Make it at least a little bit magical/speculative and shove it in my inbox ASAP, thank you #MSWL
"Fluffy YA books by POC and LGBTQ+ writers. As much as I love angst and think “issue books” are super important, I also love ridiculously fun stories that make readers feel good about life (including their identities)." @msmariavicente #MSWL mariavicente.com/representation/
