A Woman Reading @AWomanReading · 26 Oct 2018

ISO of #WOC in historical romance, especially Regency or Highlander, traditional mystery, cozy mystery, domestic thriller, science fiction, fantasy, supernatural, southern gothic. #MSWL

My updated #MSWL is up! Find it here: manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/amy-โ€ฆ Would love more upmarket/literary fiction from women of color and, since we're approaching Halloween, things with a bit of spook to them.

Linda Epstein @LindaEpstein · 29 Sep 2018

BUT, if you've got something in the same vein as say... Children of Blood and Bone! Or like... Six of Crows! I'M IN. I want to see that! #ownvoices #POC #mswl

Linda Epstein @LindaEpstein · 29 Sep 2018

And a reminder: I prefer speculative fiction to high fantasy & donโ€™t usually like portal fantasy. Send me speculative fiction set in this world or almost this world. #POC #YA #mswl

I updated my #mswl page to give a sense of what I've been reading for my own pleasure... go take a look! manuscriptwishlist.com

Some things I'd love to see come in to my inbox: How about a nice YA beach read? Something romantic & swoony without being sexist, misogynistic, stereotyping, etc... Something fun & funny & sexy! #ownvoices @POC #MSWL

Quressa Robinson (she/her/queen) @qnrisawesome · 29 Sep 2018

Just watched one of those "fake dating and now we're in love" tropes on the hallmark channel. Can I get a QPOC one in my inbox?!!! #MSWL

T.S. Ferguson @TeeEss · 27 Sep 2018

More QPOC books and authors please! Contemporary, historical and/or fantasy! #mswl

Cherrita Lee @Cherrita_Lee · 13 Sep 2018

Real talk #MSWL: Black women with other races and genders. I want a book that reflects my reality and family.

I still get surprise from older family members who learn my husband isn't Black, or that I dated a Mexican girl in middle school. We can do better than this. We must.

Lisa Abellera @LisaAbellera · 12 Sep 2018

POC & LGBTQ Leverage meets Six of Crows in space. Yes, that's right. In space. Adult or YA SF #MSWL

Emilia Rhodes @emiliarhodes · 12 Sep 2018

YA thrillers that feel surprising and new. I'm a murderino at heart and am currently loving Sadie by Courtney Summers. Also would really love to see thrillers written by POC writers and other writers from marginalized backgrounds. I know they're out there! #MSWL

Nivia Evans @NiviaEvans · 12 Sep 2018

I think this is my final one of the day, so... black women writing ADULT fantasy and science fiction. I know y'all are out there. #mswl

Alexandra Weiss @akaweiss · 12 Sep 2018

Iโ€™m always looking for #YA contemporary romcoms written by diverse authors that feature POC and LGBTQ+ characters. The lighter and fluffier, the better! #MSWL

DongWon @dongwon · 12 Sep 2018

Smart, savvy, adult thrillers with a literary voice and crossover appeal. Some speculative aspect is fine. Think Tana French or Lauren Beukes. No cops. No sexual violence. Women, PoC, other marginalized folk would be ideal. #MSWL

I love the idea of #MSWL day but I'm rarely looking for a very specific concept or type of book. I just want the book to be yours and yours alone. To be so specific you can see the whole world in its details. That said, here are a few things that are very top of mind for me:

Contemporary horror/thriller focused on the experiences of POCs. We live harrowing lives and ones that see the world from a different angle. Film/tv has done a great job of catching up to representing those experiences. I want more of it in books. #MSWL

Carlisle Webber @carliebeth · 12 Sep 2018

24/7/365 I welcome #ownvoices. I welcome all and would especially love stories by&about people of color, with disabilities (esp invisible), who have mental illness, who are LGBTQ, or who are economically disadvantaged #MSWL #wndb
