Had a great chat today while recording the podcast, about the lack of POC in YA novels centered around astrology.
I really love those books (ie: Summer of Supernovas), and would love to see that.
I'm closed for queries, but if you're writing a story like this, pitch me. #MSWL

My updated #MSWL is up! Find it here: manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/amy-ā¦ Would love more upmarket/literary fiction from women of color and, since we're approaching Halloween, things with a bit of spook to them.

Just watched one of those "fake dating and now we're in love" tropes on the hallmark channel. Can I get a QPOC one in my inbox?!!! #MSWL

YA thrillers that feel surprising and new. I'm a murderino at heart and am currently loving Sadie by Courtney Summers. Also would really love to see thrillers written by POC writers and other writers from marginalized backgrounds. I know they're out there! #MSWL

I think this is my final one of the day, so... black women writing ADULT fantasy and science fiction. I know y'all are out there. #mswl

Smart, savvy, adult thrillers with a literary voice and crossover appeal. Some speculative aspect is fine. Think Tana French or Lauren Beukes. No cops. No sexual violence. Women, PoC, other marginalized folk would be ideal. #MSWL

I love the idea of #MSWL day but I'm rarely looking for a very specific concept or type of book. I just want the book to be yours and yours alone. To be so specific you can see the whole world in its details. That said, here are a few things that are very top of mind for me:Contemporary horror/thriller focused on the experiences of POCs. We live harrowing lives and ones that see the world from a different angle. Film/tv has done a great job of catching up to representing those experiences. I want more of it in books. #MSWL

24/7/365 I welcome #ownvoices. I welcome all and would especially love stories by&about people of color, with disabilities (esp invisible), who have mental illness, who are LGBTQ, or who are economically disadvantaged #MSWL #wndb

Also actively seeking Muslim stories, both contemporary and SFF. In particular, science fiction, as I'd love to see stories of POC we don't normally get to see having adventures in the future. Also goes for SF starring indigenous characters. #MSWL

Just realized it's #MSWL day. I've tweeted occasional MSWLs whenever they've come up, so feel free to search my history, but here's the gist of what I'm looking for:All books must star IPOC
I only publish MG and YA fiction & graphic novels (see exceptions below)

Stories about generational wealth in POC families. And stories about moving into a higher socioeconomic status than the rest of ones family. #MSWL
