Smart, savvy, adult thrillers with a literary voice and crossover appeal. Some speculative aspect is fine. Think Tana French or Lauren Beukes. No cops. No sexual violence. Women, PoC, other marginalized folk would be ideal. #MSWL

Contemporary horror/thriller focused on the experiences of POCs. We live harrowing lives and ones that see the world from a different angle. Film/tv has done a great job of catching up to representing those experiences. I want more of it in books. #MSWL

24/7/365 I welcome #ownvoices. I welcome all and would especially love stories by&about people of color, with disabilities (esp invisible), who have mental illness, who are LGBTQ, or who are economically disadvantaged #MSWL #wndb

Also actively seeking Muslim stories, both contemporary and SFF. In particular, science fiction, as I'd love to see stories of POC we don't normally get to see having adventures in the future. Also goes for SF starring indigenous characters. #MSWL

I only publish MG and YA fiction & graphic novels (see exceptions below)

Stories about generational wealth in POC families. And stories about moving into a higher socioeconomic status than the rest of ones family. #MSWL

Oceans Eight meets Leverage but with BIPOC reclaiming stolen artifacts #MSWL

Give me badass females and POC in your historical! Big plus if it's LGBTQ+ #MSWL just don't give me Shakespeare, Henry VIII, or Greek gods - a little worn out on WWII, as well, unless it has a totally new POV

I would love to see more crime fiction from writers of color and LGBT writers in the world and in my inbox. If the main characters are also POC/LGBT, even better. #MSWL

#MSWL When I open up my queries again, I want the fluffiest most uwu romance / contemporary (adult or children's) fiction with PoC and/or queer protagonists (Not secondary characters fitting the bill and no one is allowed to die!)

Speaking of nonfiction for young people, query me with:

I’d like to see more books by POC & women that are written for ALL business owners & entrepreneurs. #mswl just because a book is written by a woman why do we target only women in the subject?

For PBs: author/illustrators only. (I know that stings a little. Sorry?) I like modern art styles, whimsical-with-heart stories, light humor, honest kid emotions, and simple prose. +100 for women and POC author/illustrators. #mswl

I'll be quite honest, I'm tired of the white, male, straight cop. It isn't that I won't read or consider, I'm just bored and I don't want to be bored. Give me the lesbian mother fighting for her child or the POC cop. Give me more women and give me something I haven't seen #MSWL
