Overall I'm looking for mysteries (cozy or not), adult and ya romcoms, fantasy, thriller, sci fi and horror, but here are a few concepts and ideas that I'm specifically interested in lately:

I also LOVE horror in general! Horror with social commentary & twists on common tropes, like EAT YOUR HEART OUT & WHAT WE HARVEST. Atmospheric--all the dark, creepy vibes (strange small towns & dark forests never get old for me!). Beautiful literary writing is always a plus.

MG: I'm VERY open here, from contemporary to any genre you could think of, and the whole range from lower MG to upper! From light, funny, and whimsical, to darker and more serious. I'd also love an MG mystery or horror!

MG: This is the area I'd most like to expand!
YA: My first love! I'm always looking for YA that stands out.
Select adult SFF & horror.
Always open to author-illustrators & graphic novels. Plus @DanieleDHunter & I LOVE novels-in-verse! We tend toward lyrical writing generally.

Last night I procrastinated so much on Actual Things (cleaning? life? etc) that I made myself a website 👀 taragonzalez.com

Horror romance is where it's AT babesGot a story that straddles the line between the frightening and the erotic? I wanna see it. Query me with your horror romances! #mswl

I want to see more childfree themes in my submissions, specifically in mystery, suspense, thrillers, and horror. Anyone out there working on something exciting? #amquerying #WritingCommunity #MSWL

Tiffany Shelton (she/her) 🧛🏾♀️ @TiffanyDiahann
I feel like I'm just going to constantly retweet this until I find what I'm looking for in historical fiction. Even open to a gothic horror novel with BIPOC set in the 18th and 19th centuries. #MSWL twitter.com/TiffanyDiahann…I would also take a gothic horror like this #MSWL

GIVE ME HISTORICAL FICTION THAT DOES NOT ERASE BLACK PEOPLE OR ANY POC.I will continue to say that Belle is one of my favorite movies (and yes I did read the nonfic book), and I want fiction like it.

Inbox update: I'm caught up on queries sent before today and all requested materials sent before July.#MSWL thread coming....
I'd like to see more upmarket horror in the vein of Mexican Gothic, The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires and The Return. #mswl

For horror (MG and Adult only), think psychological or creature, not gore. I don't like shock for shock sake, and I want characters I can care about. If they die, make me FEEL it

Adult
GN - all genres but especially horror, dark fantasy, or LGBTQ+
Novels - romance, contemporary, historical, and MAYBE fantasy. Super picky there. Really want horror like Babadook or Midnight Mass or Haunting of Hill House

YA GN
again, I am dying for more LGBTQ+ and historical; would love contemporary, fantasy, and horror here, too
Think outside the box. For YA, it needs to be something that totally immerses me in the characters or the world or the emotions

I enjoy pop culture, and I’m not immune to the charms of film and TV. I especially enjoy TCM and Criterion and quirky smart horror comedies 9/
