Forever waiting on a Lake Superior horror novel #MSWL

Since I've been getting some queries lately: I'm not currently considering middle-grade manuscripts! I mainly acquire adult horror for Nightfire + some select YA for Tor Teen. MG books are great! I'm just not the right editor for them 🙂

Overall I'm looking for mysteries (cozy or not), adult and ya romcoms, fantasy, thriller, sci fi and horror, but here are a few concepts and ideas that I'm specifically interested in lately:

I'm currently being very selective in the #middlegrade category, but here I'd happily take a look at #horror, #mysteries, stories with quirky characters a la client @merrill_wyatt 's Sloane and Amelia in forthcoming TANGLED UP IN LUCK. Also, I love humor in middle grade -

For #YA, I'd love to see more psychological #thrillers, #mysteries, #light atmospheric horror. Give me a YA Girl, Interrupted, please. I'd also love to see more #BIPOC and #queer stories that lead with joy here - #romance, #romcoms.

I also LOVE horror in general! Horror with social commentary & twists on common tropes, like EAT YOUR HEART OUT & WHAT WE HARVEST. Atmospheric--all the dark, creepy vibes (strange small towns & dark forests never get old for me!). Beautiful literary writing is always a plus.

MG: I'm VERY open here, from contemporary to any genre you could think of, and the whole range from lower MG to upper! From light, funny, and whimsical, to darker and more serious. I'd also love an MG mystery or horror!

MG: This is the area I'd most like to expand!

YA: My first love! I'm always looking for YA that stands out.
