I'd love a contemporary YA that explores diaspora teens and their complicated family bonds while growing up between cultures, a la Lulu Wang's The Farewell. Hits hard at the issues, while still being able to punch things up with humor and wit. #mswl

This is a huge ask, but something I think about often: 100 Years of Solitude, but about a family from a marginalized community in the South. A multi-generational saga with magic realism. (Who knows; someone might be writing this!) #MSWL

#MSWL. Looking for romantic comedies and women's fiction that is Up Lit and deals with female relationships and family secrets. I also enjoy historical fiction. Would also love to find some Middle Grade. And I love stories set in the South and Southern Gothics.

On a whim I decided to watch this movie on Netflix called Ramen Shop and it's an amazing story about culture, family, love, and (of course) food.

Now I'd like a YA or MG story that explores the bonds of family and culture (especially a blended one) through food! #mswl

Always on my #mswl - stories about figuring out how family informs identity -- the good and the bad. This is something I love about THE LAST TRUE POETS OF THE SEA by @JuliaDrake__ (out 10/1!): it so artfully explores the tension between family & individual identity.

In fact, I’d just love to see stories from kids in a variety of family structures that WORK. The beauty of a family is that there is no defined shape to a loving support network. Show me! #MSWL
