These might be the only kind of vampire stories I’d be interested in reading: based on non-European tradition/folklore and not of the Dracula or Twilight variety. Tales of creatures (part human or not) that prey on human blood have existed for centuries across the globe. #MSWL twitter.com/isabel9thlp/st…Please note, however, that I’m not a fan of the “average, boring teen girl falls in love with a supernatural creature who makes her special” paranormal romance trope that was so prevalent. #MSWL

BookEnders @NaomisLitPix @wensday95 @jamerrson @inthesestones and I are all debating vampires. And I am all about these creepy mermaids. I love vampires, but I want a creepy mermaid book more.To be fair…My debate is me continually posting Buffy twirling a stake gifs. BUT if someone had a VERY unique take on vampires (I’m looking at you, Librarians with your descendants of Judas) I might be tempted. #MSWL

Basically, the point is that found families are amazing, especially those created out of desperation/necessity. Adding bloodlust/different philosophies and moralities about murder and God to that is really compelling! Vampires are cool! Struggling with humanity is universal!Anyway, Twilight presented a lot of really awesome concepts/characters that I wish we had spent more time with/centered the plot on. Maybe you can be inspired to use that prompt and explore where Meyer chose not to. #MSWL

Hello, yes, while you are all paying attention because vampires, I would also love a diverse YA romantic comedy of sorts. (Think When Dimple Met Rishi or I Believe in a Thing Called Love) #mswloh my god this is all I want. I want it in YA *and* Adult.
I'd love a diversely cast Bridget Jones, or 27 Dresses, or OH The Devil Wears Prada.

My new morning self-pep-talk is whispering to myself, "have to fight. Have to Fly. Have to CROW. Havetosavemaggiehavetosavejack" before I leave my apartment and then chanting HOOK HOOK HOOK HOOK for the whole 40 minute train ride to work. You're welcome, NYC.

#tenqueries takeaways: 1) I'm getting a lot of YA fantasy, but I still like it. 2) though these particular thrillers weren't right for me, I'm interested in character driven adult and YA suspense/thrillers and would be eager to find a big, irresistible one. #mswl
