Hello! Just a #MSWL reminder as we look ahead to next year: I'm hungry for MG and YA across all categories, and particularly excited to find MG series/SFF/adventure and YA paranormal, contemporary, and thrillers/mysteries...and anything fun & soapy or spine-tingling & spooky!

let’s unpack why teenage girls ask the same questions academics do in more accessible terms and get dragged through the mud

#mswl — this is everything I want in YA speculative fiction

also, perfect place to plug @ockaur’s forthcoming YA SF novel, RISE OF THE RED HAND, whose teen heroine asks alllll the uncomfortable questions about power and inequality—often with her fists 😉

I don't do much YA but if someone wants to write an alien contact SF, I'd take a look! #mswl

YES! Always always thinking about what first contact would look like. Basically, gimme YA or MG Arrival ❤️

All of which to say - I may do a *short* open subs window in January, but I will assess my workload this side of Christmas and make a decision then. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and I hope it helps to have transparency on the process twitter.com/elladkahn/stat…

Excited to say I'll be open to submissions again from 4th Jan - 28th Feb 2021! Looking for upmarket women's fic, speculative fic, crime/thrillers, and YA. I'm in the mood for feel-good books, characters I can root for, emotionally driven stories, immersive settings & imagination!

Just learned there’s an apartment complex in Seoul specifically for Korean-Americans adoptees to return & connect with their culture/identity and I NEED THIS as an #ownvoices YA novel. Would consider based on sample chapters & work with you to develop it. #MSWL

In case #mswl isn’t clear, our website has been updated as people had been telling me my list there was a bit confusing. Right now I would love some young adult or adult psychological thrillers!

I really love the “spending the summer back home” premise in middle grade and YA, especially when “back home” is so varied for Black peoples. Grandma/aunty/cousin’s house is often the perfect background for all kinds of stories. More please! #mswl
