2 for 2 so far: Emilia Clarke noting "She's not mad, she's traumatized" is an equally pointed departure from how the dudes insist on framing things.newyorker.com/culture/the-ne… pic.twitter.com/gaG5t3gM4v
I don't get to acquire much fantasy BUT WHEN I DO it's got female characters with nuance as well as grit, trauma fallout and mental health issues depicted realistically, and no dudes getting away with killing their girlfriends #MSWL

Also, after watching #JohnWick3, I want a book about an intricate secret society. Not necessarily assassins and not necessarily adult (remember #CodeNameKidsNextDoor?). #mswl

Just watched @booksandlala’s video about things she liked in books. Now I desperately want a book with a smart, well-executed revenge plot in adult fiction or YA (maybe with an ensemble cast???) #MSWL

Met @kristywharvey today at my library and she signed all three of my books! Agents can be fangirls too 😉
Y’all, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love contemporary women’s fiction. If you can write sisters like Kristy, send it my way! #mswl

“Historical Fiction like WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING and THE GREAT ALONE. I like setting that feels like a character.” @carlywatters #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/

Anyone writing a novel about the Career Girls Murders that's NOT about the killer? #mswl

"Literary fiction that takes you into small worlds and communities where I'm an outsider. A glimpse inside a complex family, or a workplace." @ericsmithrocks #MSWL ericsmithrocks.com/mswlBecause @ZillianZi's Number One Chinese Restaurant absolutely ruined me last year. I desperately want to read a novel that makes me feel like that again. #MSWL

I’d also be keen to read a lougarou book by a Haitian writer. I’d waive my no horror rule for that. #MSWL(Like, I’m not telling you what to do but Little Red Riding Hood is made to be told by a Haitian) #MSWL

So if you’re a writer of color with an Adult retelling of a fairytale or kids’ fable (including non-European stories) send it to me. #MSWLI’d also be keen to read a lougarou book by a Haitian writer. I’d waive my no horror rule for that. #MSWL

These books also date as far back as the 1970s. So clearly the fairytale thing is a perennial fave. Reports of it being “over saturated” might be overblown. So if you’re a writer of color with an Adult retelling of a fairytale or kids’ fable (including non-European stories) send it to me. #MSWL
