I won't say just because this is my professional Twitter but I will say I was younger than expected and my German mother had already been telling me about periods for years. Still didn't recognize mine when it happened or even fully understand what having a period meant. twitter.com/1mercysarah/st…For any writers out there writing about menstruation (#mswl) remember that knowing=/=understanding. And also kids sometimes think they know, but they don't.

I would LOVE more #ownvoices Filipino YA or MG (set in the US or the Philippines) in my slush. My SIL is from the Philippines, my niece/nephew are being raised bilingual, I would love to find a gem to champion! #mswl

been thinking for a while how.........interesting it is that abortion books are not deemed to be Important in the way that many other social justice issue books areOkay. If you identify as a woman and are writing a YA that involves abortion (specifically from the POV of the girl having the abortion) please send it my way. #mswl

I wrote last summer about a genre of fantastic art that emerged a few years ago (and has since exploded) and what that might say about our era. I dubbed it “Encountering the Old Gods.” The original gallery was quite large. Here are a few more.rickwayne.blog/2018/07/20/enc… pic.twitter.com/EuOuSeGNaH

So, I mention that I like horror of the downright creepy variety. This will give you a sense of what that would be. As soon as I saw the trailer for this game I almost evil laughed 😉 👻💀 supermassivegames.com/games/man-of-m… #MSWL #YAhorror #ghostship #manofmedan @SuperMGames
