Opening up to queries soon. Authors ask me what I am looking for. A nonhelpful answer is "I'll know it when I see it." Ultimately looking for:
*adult fiction maaaayyybe some YA
* something new, fresh that I haven't seen before
* if suspense: an "I didn't see that coming" moment

YA Fiction:
Rom-coms, paranormal romance, dystopian romance, science fiction/fantasy/speculative, & thriller/suspense. I would love to see: diversity, LGBTQ+, environmental issues/climate change, school settings, and mental health.

YA! I'm focusing in on upper YA this year that appeals to the crossover/new adult space. I am looking for YA mysteries/thrillers; graphic novels; fantasies (see above); historical; and contemporary! Anything above I'd love to see in an YA-appropriate setting!

Historical fantasy! While the cozier, the better, I'm also looking for fantasies that sit in the upper YA/new adult space that are firmly historical and grounded. Think "The Last Magician" or "These Violent Delights"

Low-key fantasy! Epic fantasies aren't for me right now, but I'm loving warm and cozy YA/new adult fantasies that don't break the mental bank. Think "The House in the Cerulean Sea" plus "The Ex Hex" - grounded, perhaps supernatural, and heavily dosed with romance!

—Magic realism in its traditional meaning as a movement of Latin American and Caribbean or African fiction.

—Queer genre YA of any kind, especially from QBIPOC.

—Jewish fantasy, including second-world, or fantasy featuring or built around a minority religeon

Otherwise in YA, I'm looking for:

—Contemp fiction with a fresh POV, gorgeous prose, and a strong hook

—Fantasy featuring diverse characters, mythologies, and beasties, from Baba Yaga to the Bái Zé; any creature that lives outside the mainstream and in the shadows
