Ways fantasy can be dynamic without relying on Tolkien-inspired landscapes, creatures, or Chosen One tropes:- Add a second power to the world that isn't humans. Be creative with this: perhaps the king must confer with the birds or frogs before charging to war.
Because I suck at organizing tweet threads on mobile: here's an expansion of my #MSWL for fantasy (adult, but I'll consider YA too) #amwriting #amquerying #querytip
I'm not trashing established tropes in fantasy.
I'm saying: Do not feel bound by them.
Fantasy is limitless.

Doing my best to scout the #PitMad thread, but duty calls! If you have a submission you think fits my taste, PLEASE send it to me! I'm always looking for magical/witchy books in all genres and I'm particularly excited about fresh #YA social-justice-themed books. #amquerying #MSWL

Still thinking about this article. How was this possible? And, more importantly, can I do this, too, without the jail thing? How an Aspiring ‘It’ Girl Tricked New York’s Party People — and Its Banks buff.ly/2skNRdb
this story is so bizarre and i would be intrigued by a glitzy crossover YA novel about a grifter especially if it’s told in an unconventional way. #mswl
