Kat Kerr @thekatsmewsSo excited for #MSWL Day today! Here’s a thread of things that I would love to see in my inbox, outside of my general submission interests. For any #amwriting #amquerying authors out there who may think their manuscript matches one of these, please feel free to use my MSWL link.
#MSWL I’d love to see a historical dark fantasy that revolves around the 70s Glam Rock scene...basically Velvet Goldmine meets Picture of Dorian Gray.
If I missed your #PitMad pitch, paste query & 1st 5 pages in email. Adult: SFF, thriller, cont. romance, & mystery. YA: thriller, SFF, horror, mystery, cont., & historical. MG: SFF, adventure, mystery, cont., & horror. #diversity #MSWL querylynnette (@) theseymouragency (.) com
Also, I've started watching Reign, and I hate to admit it but I really miss court intrigue and historical YA. 😭 But can I get Greer's story being in love with the cook instead of Mary, Queen of Scots royalty like story? Greer is definitely my favorite romance. #MSWL
Laura E. Weymouth @lauraeweymouthHELLO, STARRED REVIEW FROM PUBLISHERS WEEKLY 😱😱😱
"...Weymouth infuses her characters with a rich panoply of emotions set against wartime England. A shining thread of hope and healing mitigates the book’s heartbreak and underlying trauma..."
Natascha Morris @SoCalledYALifeSomething #TeamNat shares, regardless of their chose form, is a willingness to work, be pushed beyond their comfort zones, to experiment, to play, and to remember that we aren't doing easy things, but that is why we are gonna be legendary. (subtle reference to team song 🤓)
And if you have made it this far in my fan girling, you might have noticed that the genres I DON'T HAVE. Which is why I am looking for:
In addition to my fantasy and contemporary list. #MSWL
Seeking: Adult: thrillers, psychological suspense, SFF, contemporary romance, rom-com, & mysteries. YA: thrillers, psychological suspense, SFF, horror, mysteries, historical, & contemporary. MG: SFF, action/adventure, mysteries, contemporary, horror, & humor. #diversity #MSWL
#MSWL call for more historical romance, especially diverse stories from #ownvoices authors! I adore Regencies and Scotsmen, but I'd also love to see some new time periods, new settings, and new voices. Bonus points if your characters make me laugh.
Natascha Morris @SoCalledYALifeSince I am feeling sleep deprived, let's do a #MSWL thread
So my list priorities are as follows:
-YA/MG Historical Fiction
- YA Romance
-YA and MG Graphic Novels
-MG Narrative Non-fiction
-YA and MG Contemporary Fiction
The Julia Child birthday celebration reminds me that I would love, LOVE, an adult historical novel about her time working for the OSS. We can probably work the word SHARK into the title and it will sell millions. Thank you. That's a #MSWL from me.
