No matter the time of year, I ALWAYS want to read more stories about witches, ghosts, mermaids, and other magical beings. Spooky and spoopy stories are welcome. ๐ป๐ #MSWL

Mystery. MG + YA. I will never forget reading The Dollhouse Murdersย when I was in fifth grade and having to close the book because I was so scared. I want to work on books that prompt that same level of book-induced fright! Also: Iโm obsessed with the Truly Devious series. #MSWL

Atmospheric books. I love a unique atmosphere/strong sense of place in books across the boardโto the extent where the setting feels like one of the characters. #MSWL

I love books with a high-concept hook, like THE DEAD QUEEN'S CLUB. #MSWL

Summer camp or job stories set in places like museums, amusement parks, space camp, study abroad programs, out at sea, etc. Gimme all the characters getting into shenanigans in fun new settings! #MSWL

Spooky PBs! ๐ป๐คโจ๐๐
Ghosts, haunted houses, cobwebs. I would die for a picture book about rusalka.
See How to Make Friends with a Ghostย for my spooky book crush, as well as an upcoming picture book called The Ugly Doodles by my client @vwicker2478. #MSWL

Always, always, always looking for diverse historical romance. For example, I think a romance set at Idlewild in the 1930s would be FANTASTIC. #MSWL

I loved Hallie Rubenhold's THE FIVE. It was so deeply researched and written with such empathy. It's a great example of the kind of narrative nonfiction I love, though I also like more modern narrative nonfiction like THE SHORT AND TRAGIC LIFE OF ROBERT PEACE. #MSWL

All the queer mg and ya stories! I would love to find more f/f first crush or relationship stories that give me butterflies. But I'm also very much open to stories that don't include romance! Overall, Iโd like to see more submissions from LGBTQ+ authors. #MSWL

#MSWL - in YA and MG, I love stories about how we're shaped by our families, and how we fit in with them (or not). I always love a good cry-worthy, heartfelt family moment in a book.

Re: ED I very specifically want a character who is already diagnosed and is not actively dying and is coping while they do Other Thing (preferably solving a mystery but ymmv). DO NOT send me your ED life or death books, I cannot. #mswl

MG + YA Magical RealismโIโm looking for the next The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender. #MSWL

MG + YA Historical Fiction/Historical FantasyโI am a history buff myself + would particularly love to see stories which highlight a marginalized narrative that hasnโt been explored as much as the white narrative has in this space. #MSWL

Hi #MSWL day! Iโm actively looking for more middle grade and young adult, as well as graphic novels and picture books. Here are a few things Iโm especially eager to find in my inbox (thread):

Now, I really want a PB that reminds me of Silly Songs with Larry. I am blaming this one on @Alex_Borbolla for her #MSWL of baby manatees.

I'd really love to see a space heist novel with a group of women doing the heisting. If you have a book that's like the movies Widows or Ocean's Thirteen but in space, please send it! #mswl
