Can't believe I have to put this on my #MSWL but please only send me human-made stories. I won't consider any projects created with AI art/writing or even ones for which generative AI was used for inspiration. Please don't send me AI-generated queries or synopses. AI is my sworn enemy.

If my username didn't tip you off, it's definitely a bonus if your kidlit project is funny! I love comedies, parodies, satires, and witty adventure stories. I prefer hopeful and fun stories, so if your book makes me cry it probably also needs to make me laugh. #MSWL

Contemporary children's comics that, can't stress this enough, get weird with it. I want events, choices, and dialogue that are surprising but still feel natural within the context of the book. I talk a lot about wanting "remark"-able events; scenes that readers will tell someone about. #MSWL

I'm feeling sappy lately and want to read the most unapologetically angsty romantic arcs you've ever seen in children's fiction. I was raised on magical girl stories; you can't scare me. (Please not that I don't rep MG/YA category romance in prose but love a romance subplot in fantasy.) #MSWL

In the spirit of #MSWL day, here's what I'm craving in children's comics and MG/YA fantasy: any trope in Kingdom Hearts but especially amnesia plots, complex betrayals, friends separated for magical reasons and trying desperately to reach each other, and mysterious lore that's somehow consistent.

#MSWL Looking for memoir and nonfiction on ’70s New York and L.A. culture with real scene energy—clubs, streets, studios, artists, hustlers, outsiders, beautiful chaos. I want voice, access, texture, and a world that feels dangerously alive. Guidelines in reply.

Because it's worth saying #mswl send me your LGBTQIA2+ stuff. Whatever is happening in the world rn, there are soooo many LGBTQ+ editors and agents trying to do THINGS & we'll be asking ourselves & each other (& you, creators) how to do things. It's not over til it's over & even then it's not over.

One last #MSWL : romcoms, heavy on the “com.” I’m especially on the lookout for books starring or written by people who have not often been depicted as the romantic lead.

I also love horror that makes you think, or has surprising emotional depth, in addition to the spookiness. And I have yet to find a really delicious gothic horror. #MSWL

Some hyper-specific #MSWL items:

I love a retelling, and would especially love one of Peter Pan or Jane Eyre. But I also love something unexpected, like an overlooked side character, genre blending, or a new lens on a familiar story

For clarity, I only represent age categories MG and up. For MG & YA I’m open to all genres fiction and nonfiction. On the adult side I only work on genre-adjacent or genre-lite fiction (no straight contemporary or anything that wades too deeply into the genre space). #MSWL
