Moving on to romance---please please PLEASE send me your swoony stories. I'm not getting nearly enough of them in my inbox. In romance, I'm open to historical, contemporary, and paranormal. #MSWL

Also on my #MSWL: more MG! I lean more towards the "quieter" stories rather than the big adventures, but I still need a strong hook/main plotline. I love fantasy, contemporary, historical--all of it.

Coming-of-age anything! Could have historical/magical realism twist i.e. THE TWELVE LIVES OF SAMUEL HAWLEY, YONAHLOSSEE RIDING CAMP, AFTER HER, THE SECRETS OF LAKE ROAD, THE GIRLS, HISTORY OF WOLVES, GIRLS ON FIRE, AGE OF MIRACLES #mswl

P.S. When I say I'm looking for historical fiction from little-known times and places, I mean it. World War II? Roman Empire? Western Europe? Nope, nope, and nope.

How about Africa or Polynesia? Far Eastern or South American countries pre-colonization or Western contact? #MSWL

Multi POV, time slip or dual past/present narrative structure women’s fiction, historical, domestic suspense, or upmarket like THE ALICE NETWORK, THE SUBWAY GIRLS. #mswl

Carly Watters @carlywatters · 12 Sep 2018

Historical novels where plot & setting have to work together i.e. NIGHTINGALE, ARCADIA, GIRL YOU LEFT BEHIND. I’m not interested in writers using historical to tell me how much research they’ve done. I want a very plotty historical. Beatriz Williams-esque. #mswl

Dawn Dowdle @blueridgeagency · 12 Sep 2018

#MSWL Historical Fiction in YA! I'm so in love with Ruby from Cold Mountain. I love her voice and if you could put that into a YA Gunslinger Girl in Colonial times, I'd be so in love. <3

Also, I've started watching Reign, and I hate to admit it but I really miss court intrigue and historical YA. 😭 But can I get Greer's story being in love with the cook instead of Mary, Queen of Scots royalty like story? Greer is definitely my favorite romance. #MSWL
