#MSWL - I need a gripping, chilling YA mystery. A laugh out loud MG. And some striking voices!
And I’d LOVE a great upmarket adult mystery or romantic suspense!
I would love to find a suspenseful YA mystery/thriller that plays with form, chronology, or narration. It’s is a great genre to play around with social constructs, too, and I love subversion. (Think: Gillian Flynn) #MSWL
🧋 ”weird & wonderful”
🧋 LGBTQ+ romance

For YA, I love contemporary coming of age, fantasy grounded in reality, near-future dystopia, and high-concept speculative. Psychological thrillers that push the envelope. Truly twisty mysteries. Literary ghost stories. #MSWL
One reason I loved The Magicians is how it reminded me of the fantasy novels I loved so much as a teen - the ones that reflected my sadness, my sense of dislocation, in a magical world that transformed the MC. Send me that in YA & MG. #mswl
In YA, I want, as always, emotional and/or charming contemporary novels, particularly along the lines of FOOLISH HEARTS or THE LAST TRUE POETS OF THE SEA or ELIZA AND HER MONSTERS. Also always love a nerdy rom-com! #mswl

If you are writing a YA contemporary romance, the vibe I seem to hit best is this for #MSWL *Some of my favorite books are not yet published, but if you have read @keliswrites then she is in this group too.
Natascha Morris @SoCalledYALifeOkay it's #MSWL time! Let's talk about some things I have been wanting/needing to add to my list.
Would love to see more MG/YA stories with Asian boy MCs doing things like falling in love, getting into trouble, standing up to bullies. (I wouldn't mind if they also invented time travel machines or fought monsters). I just want to see Asian boys be love interests!! #MSWL
