This is a #MSWL I like to put out there every now and then. I want an upmarket women’s fiction where a family member is on trial for murder and the protagonist(s) don’t know whether he did it or not. I want to see the meat of the emotions in that unthinkable situation.

A query just made me laugh out loud. FULL REQUEST.

In 2019, I want more hilarious books!

Day 12 of #25DaysofMSWL: I want graphic novels. Recent favorites have been THE PRINCE AND THE DRESSMAKER, ESTRANGED, THE WITCH BOY. I also loved NIMONA. #MSWL

Things I’d love to find in my submissions folder in 2019: a (YA, I think?) graphic novel-style biography of Selena by a Latinx author or author-illustrator. #MSWL ew.com/tv/2018/12/11/…

Drooling over some recent deal announcements over here at @bookendslit Congratulations to all authors, agents and editors. I would love to see more fiction with dogs, especially suspense/mystery/thriller #amquerying #MSWL

So usually this time of year I am all about the holiday movies. But for some reason all I want to do right now is rewatch The Haunting of Hill House over and over. Give me all of the spooky, thanks.

#MSWL PSA: I am NOT the match for a soapy, murder-mystery, contemporary YA. My best friend was murdered and I find these stories highly triggering. However, if you were to look at violence against women in a careful, nuanced and informed way, I could be your perfect match.

I love a good revenge story. Especially ones where girls get revenge. If you have a YA revenge story, please send it my way. #MSWL

Day 11 of #25DaysofMSWL: YA version of Kate Morton. And if you haven't read Kate Morton, I highly recommend THE DISTANT HOURS. #MSWL

Grace Kendall @GraceKendallLit · 11 Dec 2018

It's the holiday season, so I'll put a #MSWL out into the world: I'd love to have a new #DearGenius out in the market BUT written by one of our great editors of color. A memoir, a how-to, a narrative guide to succeeding in this business from a POV beyond the white center. (1/2)

I want more diverse books and #ownvoices stories. I'd like to see books set in other countries like CRAZY RICH ASIANS or NEXT YEAR IN HAVANA. #MSWL

Jessica Faust @BookEndsJessica · 11 Dec 2018

I'm also seeking upmarket and literary fiction along the same lines I've outlined above. Suspense, mother/child stories, stories of women and the challenges they face. #MSWL

Jessica Faust @BookEndsJessica · 11 Dec 2018

I'm also looking for more women's fiction. I'd like mother/child stories (this works in suspense too) and LGBTQ mother/father stories. #MSWL

As the year comes to an end and queries slow I start to think about what I'd like to see come 2019. #MSWL.

I'm still looking for domestic suspense and thrillers, aka psychological suspense. I'd especially like stories featuring women in situations that aren't classic husband/wife stories. #MSWL
