I can always tell when I'm not feeling well by the books I want to read. Currently obsessed with high concept, high heat, and dark sexy books. Feel free to send any recos my way, or if you've got one you're looking to submit, hit up my Sourcebooks inbox. #mswl
kayla kumari upadhyaya @KaylaKumariI really liked PLAN B and wrote about it ✨ autostraddle.com/plan-b-review-…
Watched it this weekend and it was hilarious, heartwarming, and everything I wanted! Highly recommend and want something like this for my #MSWL
WeNeedDiverseBooks @diversebooksWe Need Diverse Books will no longer use the term #OwnVoices to refer to children’s literature or its authors. Moving forward, WNDB will use specific descriptions that authors use for themselves and their characters. ow.ly/su9w50F3IiJ pic.twitter.com/drlw4B3R0K
I've updated my #mswl by removing mention of Own-Voices to reflect this.
“Middle grade animal stories like Pax by Sara Pennypacker, Silverwing by Kenneth Oppel, Bunnicula by Deborah and James Howe, and Santa Paws by Nicholas Edwards.” @msmariavicente #MSWL mariavicente.com/representation
Ok I want an (off world) book in which a civilized technological (maybe emerging technological) society uncovers the remnants of a lost world, a different species, who once occupied their world, even achieved greater than them before their ruin. Literary or upmarket SFF?? #MSWL
Kayla Lightner @LightnerKaylaHello lovely #amwriting and #amquerying community! I will be closed to queries starting Monday, 3/22. I look forward to seeing your work when I re-open in the summer☀️😎
Some #MSWL things:
1) MG fantasy, please! Especially myth-based, w/a strong focus on character, & a beautiful world/setting.
2) Contemporary MG/YA with LGBTQ+ characters.
3) MG graphic novels!
4) Underrepresented voices.
5) YA or MG that deals w/grief and/or mental health.
Think THE NIX with a more reasonable word count, J. Ryan Stradal-type regional flavor but by/from/reflecting a wide array of people and communities. I gravitate strongly to contemporary over historical but do love a good multigenerational tale. #MSWL
