For MG readers, I’m keen to find a funny, female focused story with series potential (think Louise Rennison or Karen McCombie) and an adventure story for that age group too. I love anything creepy and spooky, so please send anything like that along to me too.

I promised updated #mswl this week, but got a bit distracted by the news. My MSWL page hasn’t changed much, so it’s a good reference. For #mg, I’m on the lookout for commercial action/adventure, a story I can escape into. Also love unique settings (think Holes.)

At the moment, I'd say I want to see YA and MG that leads with joy. Falling in love. Doing something exciting. Exploring new worlds. Kids with quirky passions. Humor. Families (of all configurations) that love each other. #MSWL

Forever and always: commercial, plot-driven fiction for MG and YA. I have more room for MG. I am flexible on genre, but don't love gore or problem novels. I'm more interested in kids going on adventures than Only Suffering With Issues. (obvs kids do have issues in life) #MSWL

#MSWL - graphic novels! I'm particularly eager for grounded/realistic graphic novels or fantasy with one foot in the real world, but open to all GN genres in MG and YA.

#MSWL - literary MG standalone. I'm still thinking of some of my fav reads of 2020 and a lot of the books my mind can't let go of are MG standalone novels, whether contemporary or not. Think THE LINE TENDER, and if you ever want to talk about that book, I'm here. It's SO GOOD.

#MSWL - YA or MG paranormal: vampires, werewolves, oh my! Particularly interested in paranormal from underrepresented points of view and stories that bring something new to the genre. Related: contemp fantasy a la LEGENDBORN, a 2020 fav, too.

#MSWL - MG series with big concepts and high stakes. Think NEVERMOOR, THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL, upcoming AMARI & THE NIGHT BROTHERS, etc.

Along with LGBTQ+ historical, I'm SUPER on the hunt for more MG in 2021. This is definitely going to be making up a lot of my list =] #MSWL
