MG

Molly Cusick @molly_cusick · Sep 24

#MSWL: #ownvoices #MG or #YA protagonists with chronic illness, pain, and/or a disability in a story not focused on that, and where no one dies--it's just a part of life. This kind of rep is important to me & I rarely see it in subs or published books.

Alex Slater @abuckslater · Sep 24

I’m wishing for creepy #MG, serious literary #YA, and graphic novels especially by marginalized author/illustrators! #MSWL

Kelly 📚 @LitAgentKelly · Sep 24

So I found my witch writer, my pirates writer, and my ballet writer this year! WOOO!!! What am I looking for next?...

...Sci-Fi, gaming, and dystopian/futuristic sci-fi. I'm not a space opera person though! Sorry! #MSWL This goes for MG and YA! =)

Melissa Edwards @MelissaLaurenE · Sep 24

There’s been discussion on this delightful medium about MG and periods, so write it and let it flow my way (the pun is there) #MSWL

Brent Taylor @btaylorbooks · Sep 24

I have an empty query inbox and an updated #MSWL page: manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/bren…. Can't wait to read great picture book, middle grade, + YA submissions.

Peter Knapp @petejknapp · Sep 24

Also on my #MSWL - middle grade where illustrations play a big role, such as THE DOLDRUMS by Nicholas Gannon & THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET by Brian Selznick, and funny stuff like THE TAPPER TWINS GO TO WAR or DORK DIARIES.

Peter Knapp @petejknapp · Sep 24

#MSWL - to stay on the MG series plot, other examples of books I've have loved to work on: ARU SHAH AND THE END OF TIME, THE SERPENT'S KISS, NEVERMOOR.

Peter Knapp @petejknapp · Sep 24

#MSWL - I'd also love a puzzle-y middle grade series a la ESCAPE FROM MR. LEMONCELLO'S LIBRARY, MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY, or THE BLACKTHORN KEY (one of my favs for its perfect balance of humor and tension).

Peter Knapp @petejknapp · Sep 24

#MSWL - In MG, I will say I'd love, love to find a big middle grade series, something with heart & adventure. I'd love a sweeping MG fantasy-adventure, a new take on magical schools, or something high concept, high stakes, and FUN.

Peter Knapp @petejknapp · Sep 24

Happy #MSWL day! I am going to tweet some hopes and dreams for my inbox, but the headline is: YA & MG! If you're querying YA & MG fiction, I'd be thrilled to receive your submission. @ParkandFine's submissions guidelines are here: parkfine.com/get-in-touch/

John Cusick @johnmcusick · Sep 23

Tomorrow is #MSWL day! And my wishlist is more of a wish-tome. As ever, my big focus is #MG and #YA, so if you've got something wonderful, weird, and/or exciting to share with kids and teens, watch this space!

Leslie Zampetti @leslie_zampetti · Sep 23

#MSWL I’d love to see some Latinx/Jewish contemporary YA... Or a retelling of Romeo & Juliet with the protagonists both devout but different religions... Or a great MG mystery that more Mo LeBeau and less Nancy Drew & ClueCrew.

Dawn Dowdle @blueridgeagency · Sep 23

#MSWL Cozy Mysteries (female protagonists), Amish Romance, Mysteries, Suspense, Romantic Suspense, Historical Romance, Romantic Comedy, and Middle Grade Mysteries. Follow query instructions at blueridgeagency.com 70,000-90,000 word count preferred.

Brit Brooks-Perilli @Britny_Perilli · Sep 21

On a whim I decided to watch this movie on Netflix called Ramen Shop and it's an amazing story about culture, family, love, and (of course) food.

Now I'd like a YA or MG story that explores the bonds of family and culture (especially a blended one) through food! #mswl
