Novels that address religion for MG and YA, because both religion and books for kids and teens are about finding your place in a big world #mswl

Welcome to 2020, publishing! Agent friends, here’s a #mswl thread for pinning and perusing and adding to all year.
Forever, I’m looking for PB, MG, and YA, especially by underrepresented creators, especially contemporary fiction that leads with joy.

I will still be open to YA stories, but will be much more selective about them (or I will TRY to be! I keep picking them up, gosh darn it! I've been trying!) However, I currently have 6 mostly YA authors on my roster, and I need more adult and MG authors! #MSWL

For Middle Grade, I am desperate for:

- Themes with puzzles and riddles.
- Group of kids going on adventures in their hometown.
- Graphic novels (in YA too)!

* Middle grade and YA fiction & graphic novels from perspectives that often feel left out of publishing, including LGBTQIA themes. Especially if they are:
* Funny! Heartfelt! Adventures! All of the above! Basically, I LOVE middle grade and YA fiction and graphic novels!

Something I haven't mentioned but am really on the hunt for: MIDDLE GRADE STORIES. Contemporary, speculative, fantastical - I want it all.
Especially if it's about friendship, odd hobbies, or beginning to figure out who you are.

I’m very excited to be reopening to submissions today! Send me quirky, magical middle-grade or YA novels to fall in love with. Send me adult fiction that I can’t put down. But more than anything, send me books that are filled with hope. Writers from all backgrounds welcome! #MSWL

Been slowly making my way through the Rick Riordan presents lineup, and sweet peaches (see what I did there?), these books are so good. I’m very much so looking for an MG action/adventure global mythology standalone or series. VERY MUCH SO. #MSWL

I’m gearing up for 2020 and decided to add picture books to my wish list, but I’m also removing adult fantasy and adult sci-fi. I still want MG and YA in those (and other) genres. See my pinned tweet for deets. #MSWL #WritingCommunity #amquerying

I'd also like some speculative YA/MG where weird stuff happens and characters are forced together to figure it out.
Think The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman or The Bone Houses by Emily-Lloyd Jones.
