Just gently cried my way through the end of Alice Hoffman’s The Red Garden, and I’d very much love a multi-generational MG or YA novel that lovingly explores the ties that bind us to our ancestors and our homes. And, well, a little magic never hurts ✨ #MSWL

YA:
- Would love some more big romance with a hook. Smart and swoony. If there's an irreverent quality to it (ala VIOLET MADE OF THORNS), all the better.
- Speculative twists and hooks. Splashes of magic or sci-fi.
- Books that feel like going on a vacation somewhere exciting.

MG:
- I like zany humor and mad-cap adventures. (See TIME VILLAINS and 7TH GRADE V. GALAXY on my list.)
- Epic fantasy is great—but the more original the world the better.
- A sense of FUN and POSSIBILITY and MAGIC (doesn't have to be literal magic, but it doesn't hurt).

#MSWL Who must I sell my soul to for a fantasy retelling of A ROOM WITH A VIEW? The manners, the beauty, the romance. The whole book (and movie) feels like you've walked straight into an impressionist painting, and I want that but, like, with magic.

-Immersive YA high fantasy and sci-fi with well-defined rules (be it unique magic systems or technology)

-YA inspired by or reimagining folklore or mythology

-Humorous, voice-y MG, as well as MG that recognizes the harder truths of the world while being ultimately hopeful
