"Magic always comes with a price". I love consequences. So much of the fantasy I love is driven by characters make decisions and then dealing with the consequences of those actions.

I'd like a MG Fantasy that features lesser-known creatures of myth and legend (be that because they don't figure as prominently in mythology, or because they are from traditions ignored by the European-centric literary canon). #mswl pic.twitter.com/LZ06ndP0L0Always #mswl for this in MG & YA. Historical fic, urban fantasy, and magical realism!

BUT I want to see some modern magic realism, and some contemporary fantasy (think portal magic, magical bakeries/flower shops, lighthearted time travel in the vein of the movie About Time). Again, more modern/contemporary and less urban fantasy. #mswl

“Fantasy (urban or otherwise) dealing with the diaspora of a magical community—how does the magic change/thrive?” @kurestinarmada #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/

If you write books with a hint of magic or otherworldliness, I wanna see them! Books like THE COTTINGLEY SECRET, THE ESSEX SERPENT, or A SECRET HISTORY OF WITCHES.
