I like literary, high concept sci-fi in the vein of Ray Bradbury or Philip K. Dick. Bradbury in particular was great at really character-driven, emotion-driven stories, whether they were sci-fi, horror or contemporary. That's what I'm looking for in sci-fi. #MSWL

Top of my #MSWL is a literary middle grade mystery with high stakes, middle grade and YA graphic novels, author-illustrated picture books, a YA novel told in reverse chronological order.

Dark literary mysteries/suspense/thrillers with female lead i.e. DARK PLACES, YOU WILL KNOW ME, THE FEVER, THE POWER #mswl

Upmarket, structurally interesting, sweeping love stories of all kinds. I’d love a LGBTQ story in the vein of ONE DAY/THE VERSIONS OF US. Something like a more commercial PAYING GUESTS (which I loved, but I'm not interested in ton of capital L literary fiction right now). #mswl

While #ownvoices and #diversebooks have caught on in YA, I'm still struggling to see it in adult and, frankly, that's what I want more of. #MSWL My target genres right now are: literary & upmarket fiction, mystery, suspense, thriller, & women's fiction.

A more abstract #MSWL, but I loved this story about the last Blockbusters of Alaska and the role they played in their communities. I'd love to see a literary novel, YA or adult, that focuses on these social shifts due to technology.
