Genre-bending. I don’t rep traditional sci-fi, horror or fantasy but very open to those elements being folded into a literary novel (think Victor Lavalle, Kate Maruyama, Rivers Solomon, Helen Oyemi) #mswl

I am particularly looking for MG and young YA that has strong appeal for middle school/junior high students in the school/library market. Literary quality with strong commercial hook to get kids reading. #MSWL

Updated #MSWL on m'blog (bit.ly/2p3a5iO), but eager for a few things (beyond anything delightful):

*YA: literary sci-fi; anything science fantasy-esque
*thriller/crime: female-driven literary; intellectual puzzles/characters
*characters w/ intellectual, emotional gifts

#MSWL I'm on the hunt for wildly entertaining literary fiction, narrative nonfiction, and memoir, esp from underrepresented perspectives. Dying to see non-Eurocentric HF, refreshing romcoms a la #CrazyRichAsians, propulsive toxic female friendship stories--omg the list goes on--

I like literary, high concept sci-fi in the vein of Ray Bradbury or Philip K. Dick. Bradbury in particular was great at really character-driven, emotion-driven stories, whether they were sci-fi, horror or contemporary. That's what I'm looking for in sci-fi. #MSWL

Ahoy, it's #MSWL day! Send me your dark, propulsive novels that play with genre. Beautiful, literary prose is a must; think Station 11, Her Body & Other Parties, etc. A campus novel that's so much more: like The Incendiaries, Secret History. Oh, & pls follow my query guidelines!

Upmarket, structurally interesting, sweeping love stories of all kinds. I’d love a LGBTQ story in the vein of ONE DAY/THE VERSIONS OF US. Something like a more commercial PAYING GUESTS (which I loved, but I'm not interested in ton of capital L literary fiction right now). #mswl

#MSWL I’m always going to be in the mood for a literary/upmarket #ownvoices family saga. I want something deep, addresses the generational divide, and will make me cry my eyes out.

While #ownvoices and #diversebooks have caught on in YA, I'm still struggling to see it in adult and, frankly, that's what I want more of. #MSWL My target genres right now are: literary & upmarket fiction, mystery, suspense, thriller, & women's fiction.

A more abstract #MSWL, but I loved this story about the last Blockbusters of Alaska and the role they played in their communities. I'd love to see a literary novel, YA or adult, that focuses on these social shifts due to technology.
