Mystery, in certain subgenres! I saw an editor #MSWL asking for “fresh cozies for millennial readers,” which, yes please! As in YA, I'm absolutley looking for queer mysteries. Some dislikes: No young children in harm’s way/being secretly evil. No cop MC’s or love interests.

Onto adult! Romance across categories/romcoms, particularly queer and/or BIPOC. Anthing comped to Alyssa Cole, Olivia Waite, Cat Sebastian, Georgia Beers, Beverly Jenkins, Rebekah Weatherspoon, Talia Hibbert, Alexandria Bellefleur, Rosie Danan, Roselle Lim, Alisha Rai... #MSWL

Paranormal YA fantasy (can we just call it that again?) Vampires and vampiric beasties, especially queer, especially non-western versions—give me the manananggal! The pontianak! The estrie! But really, any creature that lives a little outside the mainstream and in shadows #MSWL

Queer YA genre fiction of any kind. Fantasy, Mystery, Thriller (I didn't know I liked thrillers, but SURRENDER YOUR SONS got me this year), Sci-fi, Romance, Historical, Horror (as long as it's not too grisly; think Hill House, not Halloween). Most especially from QBIPOC #MSWL

2/ My primary focus is #OwnVoices stories by Black and/or BIPOC authors, disabled and chronically ill authors, and LGBTQ2S+ authors. I love the #SpineSquad with all my heart, but it is still a majority white group and my goal is for that to change in the future.
