Character-focused SF - I want your heists, your found families, your explorers, your settlers. I'm not a good fit for either hard SF or pure military SF

I would LOVE to find a New Adult Cozy Mystery!
I am also searching for a Young Adult or New Adult heist story!

--Always and forever looking for a heist or a fantastic twisty plot with high stakes, great cast, and a surprise ending that feels wonderfully satisfying.

I'm also manifesting something heist-y! Whether that's contemporary and hilarious like COUNTERFEIT or a historical masterpiece like THE HOUSEKEEPERS (coming this summer), I'm open to anything in this space.

I’ve been especially loving books with a genre twist lately -- PORTRAIT OF A THIEF comes to mind as a great example of what I’m looking for, as does COUNTERFEIT or LUCKY. I’m a sucker for a charming con artist, or an intricately plotted heist. Bonus if it makes me laugh!

Young heists, mysteries, detectives, assassins. Middle grade or YA necromancers, supernatural hunters, and kids who get revenge

smart, beautifully written heists, cons, and scams where the personal stakes are sky-high, especially if art and culture plays a big role—PORTRAIT OF A THIEF by @gracedli is a favorite (and for context, @ScamGoddessPod is my most-listened-to podcast)

"I'm looking for heists, competitions, and assassin novels in MG/YA/Crossover Adult. With the vibes of Uncharted, The Mummy, or The Inheritance Games. This could be magical realism or fabulism, fantasy, or even really interesting contemp"

Everything we teach people not to do? Do it. Assassins. Heists. Trained thieves. Undercover guards. All of it.
Spies? Start em young. Better yet? Put it in a competition. There are trials? Give them to me. A game to break a curse? Yup. Heists set against a clock? Throw it at me.

The publishing house story I want to read (write?) is a soup to nuts account of an NYRB release written like a bank heist -- finding the lost gem, securing the rights from the defunct Soviet publishing house, bringing in the grizzled translator for one last job etcI cannot tag this hard enough #MSWL

#MSWL Still (forever) seeking voicey female-fronted thrillers. Less domestic/psych suspense fiction (unless they've got a killer Gone Girl-style twist), more heists, fights, action/adventure goodness. Would love a female Reacher equivalent. Humor also much appreciated.

I love a good haunting and a good heist, always, and the shadowy place where horror, fantasy, and romance kiss. I’m not big on chosen ones, magical rebellions, elemental magic, or stories centering warriors, but I'm open to being surprised by the right manuscript.
