Looking at sales reports this morning and yo. The appetite for funny illustrated middle grade is HIGH and not stopping. Capt Underpants: 1997; Dork Diaries: 2001; Wimpy Kid: 2007. We're just about due for another breakout series. If you're writing it send it to me. #MSWL

For picture books, I gravitate toward quirky, funny, offbeat, and clever stories that center on a memorable character(s) or weave in deeper themes about friendship, mental health, etc. I'd love to find author-illustrators who can capture that sensibility in both text & art. #MSWL

On that note, #MSWL for a sincere but funny middle grade novel about kids facing real world stakes who are also just unapologetically little weirdoes.

I don’t know how to make this sound not sarcastic (🤷🏼‍♀️) but I’d love to see some funny Christian picture books in my inbox. #MSWL
