Diverse

Alexandra Weiss @akaweiss · 12 Sep 2018

I’m always looking for #YA contemporary romcoms written by diverse authors that feature POC and LGBTQ+ characters. The lighter and fluffier, the better! #MSWL

Hali Baumstein @halibaumstein · 12 Sep 2018

I'm also all about epic, sweeping fantasies. I'd love to see thoughtfully built, fresh-feeling worlds (bonus points if they contain rich magic systems), inhabited by complex characters. And I'm always excited to see fantasy from diverse voices! #MSWL

Chelsey Emmelhainz @CKEmmelhainz · 12 Sep 2018

Happy #MSWL day! I acquire *only* adult fiction w mystery, suspense, & crime elements, but in those categories, I'm looking for concepts featuring:
+ Domestic susp w *fresh* hook
+ Small-town mysteries w series potential
+ Dark, twisted, macabre
+ diverse voices, own voices
1/2

Emmanuelle Morgen @EmMorgen · 12 Sep 2018

You know what I’d love to see done well? An erotic romance story set in a brothel in space. Basically, The Expanse meets Copper. #MSWL

Still looking for a well-done erotic romance story set in a brothel in space. Would also take SFF space opera without romantic element set in a brothel in space. Give me tons of aliens, a diverse cast & a kick-ass Madam! #MSWL

Emmanuelle Morgen @EmMorgen · 12 Sep 2018

It’s #MSWL day! Top of my wishlist this fall is romantic comedy that’s diverse/game-changing in some respect. That comments on our world.

Hannah Fergesen @HannahFergesen · 12 Sep 2018

In all of these genres and categories, I would especially love to see work from marginalized and diverse creators #MSWL

Cassandra Farrin @CassaCassaCassa · 12 Sep 2018

Another gentle reminder: The Amberjack publishing team as a whole is diverse (often intersectionally!) and women-led. While we welcome stories by all authors, we strongly encourage stories by authors of color and other underrepresented backgrounds. #MSWL

Natalie M. Lakosil @Natalie_Lakosil · 12 Sep 2018

Hot on my list for #mswl are #ownvoice contemporaries featuring diverse characters.

Stacy Whitman @stacylwhitman · 12 Sep 2018

Honestly, so much is just not being told yet that there's such a wide variety of diverse stories I just can't say I want till it shows up on my door. Best thing of course is a great story, well written. #MSWL

Stacy Whitman @stacylwhitman · 12 Sep 2018

And as far as diversity goes, I am particularly seeking new authors of color and indigenous authors. #MSWL

We are still actively seeking contemporary Native American narratives for MG & YA, novel and graphic novel. I'd also love more books about black girls/by black women.

Amanda Jain @wensday95 · 12 Sep 2018

Lastly in mystery, I'd love to see some diverse cozies land in my inbox. There aren't nearly enough of them, please send more! #mswl

Amanda Jain @wensday95 · 12 Sep 2018

In romance: I love quirky characters and am far more likely to be drawn to a story that makes me laugh than one that makes me cry. In historical, I really would love to see some diverse stories. Give me South Asians falling in love in London during the Regency, for example. #mswl

Annie Bomke @ABLiterary · 12 Sep 2018

I want diversity always. Any kind of diversity you have I want. #MSWL

Jessica Watterson @JessWatterson · 12 Sep 2018

Ok- for my #MSWL I want fun, fresh, smart, feminist Commercial/Upmarket WF, out of the box MG that makes me want to be a kid again, unique and diverse Romance voices, and an edge of your seat YA Thriller.

Andrea Cascardi @aecbks · 12 Sep 2018

#MSWL #MG please. No high fantasy, horror, sci fi but otherwise I will be open to (end of Sept), especially to #diverse voices, strong hooks, compelling plot, amazing characters. Even better if humor laced throughout drama or drama laced throughout humor.

Susan Velazquez @susannprogress · 12 Sep 2018

Time to share my #MSWL! For SFF: Black Mirror-esque thrillers that imagine the dark and twisted places tech could take us. My fave eps were "Nosedive" and "Men Against Fire." Also want fantasies built on myths and legends, especially from diverse cultures.
