In all these, I want fearless or fragile female, trans, or NB characters. Teens w/sharp voices, reckless approaches,&teens w/disabilities. Characters who have never been viewed as "the perfect" anything. Outcasts, misfits, beautiful&powerful rises through extreme adversity. #mswl

In contemporary YA, I want stories where teens have departed "their usual world" for some reason. Humanitarian trips, visits to ancestral places. Immigration/refugee stories rooted in truth. An updated GIRL: INTERRUPTED style departure from their usual would be amazing. #mswl

IE: Patrick Ness' brilliant The Rest Of Us Just Live Here.

Like, there's a familiar in What We Do In the Shadows who is like 80+ years old, and is still saying "any day now."

Imagine a father figure in a YA novel who is a familiar, and his wildly frustrated family. Does the teen become a slayer?

I've been watching the TV adaptation of What We Do in the Shadows (it's brilliant), and I'm just obsessed with the world of the familiars, the humans serving the vampires.

I would DEVOUR a vampire novel from the perspective of familiar. Who is maybe tired of waiting? #MSWL
