Spooky Shelly 🎃 @_smromeroNight 3: GINGER SNAPS, 2000
*1st time viewing
Ginger gets her first period and is attacked by some type of animal. So it’s up to her sister to help her out. Puberty can be a real bitch.
I haven’t stopped thinking about GINGER SNAPS since I watched it. Edgy, goth sisters. Werewolves. Halloween. I’d love to see a dark YA like this one day #mswl
Still on the hunt for a #YA or adult historical, whether it's straight #historical, #fantasy, or has other speculative elements. Love a good romance subplot. Been craving Ice Age and early human stories as far as ancient history goes as well. #MSWL
Amy J. @AmyJohnson895@WeronikaJanczuk Wondering if you're interested in YA dystopian/post-apocalyptic dealing with AI and a concept I call "human-zoos". I remember seeing a tweet once vaguely referencing something MSWL related. #mymemoryisgarbage
I am willing to look at anything, including YA dealing with AI! Execution is most important for this one. #MSWL
Megan Amram @meganamramdon't forget the ladies of horror this month. watch RAW, written and directed by the effortlessly cool julia ducournau pic.twitter.com/EepKmdvJzP
So many faves in this list! RAW and THE INVITATION esp. Also, women writing horror novels (adult & YA), that's a forever #mswl for me.
Entangled Publishing @entangledpubIt's HERE! Find out what our editors are wishing for this October. #amwriting bit.ly/2pA9rtb pic.twitter.com/YzDn2SFB3o
My #mswl is so short this month that you might miss it, so I'll repeat it here:
"I really want to see more YA submissions with nonbinary lead characters. Any genre or type."
That's it. *grabby hands* Now give it to me.
Anne Thériault @anne_theriaultThere’s a post circulating tumblr/Facebook asking why so many tween girls go through a witchy “let’s read fortunes and levitate” sleepover/jr. coven phase. I actually talked to an expert about this exact thing two years ago! medium.com/the-establishm…
I would die for a YA/MG along these lines. #MSWL Real magic or just imagined, doesn't matter. I especially like stories that focus on girl friendships/sisterhood.
So in light of my recent October-themed tweets, please do send me all your creepy, eerie, scary and strange YA and MG horror, mystery and thrillers. I am 100% in the mood for a good scare and all thing that go bump in the night! #MSWL
#MSWL Since it's October, I would love something gothic and creepy, a dark fantasy, or a historical in #YA or #A. Or something like Into the Drowning Deep. Loved that anticipation of waiting to discover the truth followed by horror.
