#MSWL SFF in non-Western settings by #ownvoices authors

#MSWL tweet! On top of seeing some atmospheric lighthouse submissions hit the inbox, I wonder if anyone is writing some good SF around isolation - something that makes me feel like a microscopic dot against a microscopic dot. I'd also love a fast-paced UK/European thriller.

First and foremost, #ownvoices! I rep YA and adult: horror, SFF, thrillers/mysteries (not cozies), historical, and general fiction. Also COOKBOOKS! #mswl

My SFF feelings apply to YA, too -- although in YA I am more open to Contemporary Fantasy/Paranormal than I am in Adult.

In YA and MG, I'm really looking for everything and anything, but lately my tastes have skewed more Contemporary. #MSWL

On to SFF! I am here for light SFF. I have trouble with space operas and anything with elves, orcs, etc.

I like my sci-fi techy and plausible (i.e. RECURSION by Blake Crouch) and my fantasy grounded in history/folktale (think SPINNING SILVER, CITY OF BRASS, THE POPPY WAR). #MSWL

For #MSWL in adult sci-fi/ fantasy:

- contemporary fantasy that's "city as character"

- anything that reminds me of a CW show (lol)

- positive climate fiction

- near-futuristic SF with anti-capitalist critique in the vein of PARASITE
