How Things Work @Chemistryvid
To defend against wasps, bees create a defense wave known as shimmering. Participating bees need to respond with perfect timing when it's their turn to shimmer. It’s unclear why wasps are intimidated by shimmering, pic.twitter.com/wCSGYG0zntSomeone feature this gloriously strange bee fact in a novel! It seems like something straight out of science fiction. #MSWL

Nikkita Bourbaki is sick of winning. @futurebird
My suggestion, make a sci fi crime drama show about future NYC where there are no police as we now know them. (Except detectives, but even they would be different.)Show the various agencies and community group that deal with crimes.
I mean #MSWL honestly.

“I read widely in YA, and enjoy just about every genre in it. I love moving contemporary reads, thrilling sci-fi, and lush fantasy.” @ericsmithrocks #MSWL ericsmithrocks.com/mswl

I don’t even know what I mean when I say I want a YA or Adult SFF with the vibe of the “Rain On Me” video, but I want it #MSWL
(Also, at first I misheard the lyrics as “I’d rather be drunk but at least I’m alive,” and thought that was a bold truth)

Here is my #mswl darleyandersonblog.com/2020/02/25/mee… Generally, outside of crime, things that are uplifting & are about finding/making connections. High concept, feel-good, love stories. And across children's uplifting again, funny, things inspired by kindness and nature.

Well, I'm disappointed. I saw #Anne300K trending, and am saddened that it isn't about a new production of Anne of Green Gables, set 298,000 years in the future.Well, now I'M disappointed, and fwiw, if someone queried me with this, I'd be all over it. Give me those cozy, queer-coded, futuristic sci fi retellings with cordial on the side. #MSWL

"Sci-fi & fantasy novels. I love them. I read a ton of them. But they have to be accessible. What does that mean? It means that readers who don't traditionally pick up much sci-fi/fantasy, can pick up one of these novels & enjoy it." @ericsmithrocks #MSWL ericsmithrocks.com/mswl

Hello! I'm looking to find some great projects while I'm home with lots (and lots) of reading time. Here's a quick #MSWL rundown: a thread.#MSWL - MIDDLE GRADE. Any and all middle grade! I am hungry for it: standalone contemporary, sweeping fantasy series, sci-fi, horror, you name it. I’d love something high concept, like CITY OF EMBER, NEVERMOOR, ARU SHAH & THE END OF TIME, etc.

I can’t stop thinking about this.Someone write me a reverse, PoC Howard Carter #SFF novel where cultural artifacts are repatriated to their rightful inheritors. Give me the fantasy or future tech inverse heist novel. #MSWL twitter.com/_iwakeli_i/sta…
YES PLEASE (I even wrote a #MSWL tweet about this a while ago!)
