(basically, communication, respect, and consent is ✨super sexy✨ and my personal preference is sweet warm fuzzy romance with a smidge of heat versus hot steamy romance where sex is the focus)

Literary Agent
a moderate amount of heat is fabulous, but i’m also okay with little to no explicit scenes (and this includes any variation of asexual romances!!). i’m probably not the best fit for a high amount of explicit scenes or erotica

Literary Agent
in romance, i really want examples of healthy romances! it’s completely okay for characters to make mistakes (please, have them make mistakes lol) but i do NOT want books that idealize (or even just accept) toxic, codependent, or abusive behaviors in romantic relationships

Literary Agent
overall, i will be accepting:
ADULT:
•fantasy
•horror
•contemporary
•romance
•novels-in-verse
•graphic novels
YA:
•fantasy
•horror
•sci-fi
•thriller
•contemporary
•novels-in-verse
•graphic novels

Literary Agent
the other changes:
•i will NOT be accepting adult sci-fi during this period (this is NOT permanent and i will likely be open to adult sci-fi again in the future)
•i will actively be looking for adult romance (with caveats, see below!)

Today’s back to school vibes means it feels like a good time to update my #MSWL! Here’s what I’m looking for in my submissions at the moment:In YA, I’d love a high-concept romance - think They Both Die at the End or a YA One Day.

Literary Agent
BUT, I’d especially love to find contemporary commercial YA (horror, thriller, romance etc.) that is really nailing whatever genre it is - in a fun and interesting way.

Literary Agent
Regency and Victorian era romance by BIPOC authors, in addition to romance from other countries during this time period (approximately 1811-1901). For example, Rebel (Women who Dare) by Beverly Jenkins, and the forthcoming Ana Maria and The Fox by Liana De La Rosa. #MSWL

Sweeping and gut-wrenching romance where it’s almost impossible for the couple to be together, where somehow they’re always separated (beyond their control), while being so madly in love, (example, forbidden romance, war-torn worlds). #MSWL
