Retelling

Hear me out: A Hamilton and Eliza retelling, but f/f. A revolutionary and a debutante fall in love—possibly in space—and it's complicated. #MSWL

Currently living for this modern day graphic novel retelling of LITTLE WOMEN: MEG, JO, BETH AND AMY. I'd LOVE to see a GRAPHIC NOVEL retelling of something classic but resonant for kids or teens--modern or otherwise. #mswl

I hope we'll see more Jewish second-world fantasy. Jewish culture is full of myths and magic that would be fresh and breathtaking in a fantasy setting.

Hi, yes, please send these directly to my inbox. I’m here for your Ruth or Esther retelling, your golems, your genderbent Solomon, your modern Samson with an Ariana-length pony. Break my heart and take me to sit Shiva in a lush enchanted forest. Teach me about ru’ach magic. #MSWL

I love myths, legends and fairytales. I’d love to see some retellings or adaptations. They can be contemporary, historical, fantasy, etc. #MSWL

8) I still have my fingers crossed for a clever retelling, a genre-crossing tale with familiar faces, but not unnecessarily faithful to the source material. It should stand independent and quite unique. #MSWL

Day 6 of #25DaysofMSWL: My colleague @wensday95 always has the best adult books that I wish were YA. Like her Bronte's retelling. So for today's #MSWL, I am going to retweet some of her MSWLs.

Day 5 of #25DaysofMSWL: Retellings. Let's see some interested spins on favored classics and some retellings of less retold works. Gender bent, new insights. Give me all kinds of stories from all kinds of cultures. #MSWL

"I’m still looking for a YA macabre fairy tale retelling. A story that combines luxurious fantasy and horror." @msmariavicente #MSWL bit.ly/2P9Z0aX

Rewatching the 90s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and what hits me every time is that I forget that the plot revolves so much around the accusation of Hero not being a virgin. The parts I remember are the running around conspiring to make Benedic and Beatrice fall in love w/ each other.

I've often said I'd LOVE a YA retelling of Much Ado, and I stand by that, but I'd love a feminist reclaiming of it, too. That's a #MSWL, by the way--YA graphic novel retelling of Much Ado about Nothing starring modern-day POC teens. What would such a retelling look like?

Just going to put this out there in the world... two things I would not mind seeing in my inbox:
* Wizard Heist
* Modern retelling/reimagining/remix of The Secret Garden

I'm #MSWL-ing for re-tellings (#adult or #YA) of myths, folktales, or fairytales. Always. Bring it. More. Had the chance to look at #queries and pages for an @OpAwesome6 #passorpages, and had lots to say: bit.ly/2QisRya. I encourage you all to think through m'#querytip!
