"Multi POV, time slip or dual past/present narrative structure women’s fiction, historical, domestic suspense, or upmarket like THE ALICE NETWORK, THE SUBWAY GIRLS." @carlywatters #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/
I would LOVE more cute, sweet romance submissions with black, Asian, or Latino main characters! 65K or more, winter, Valentine’s Day, or spring esp. ❄️❤️🌸Agents, I’d love to get these as proposals, too! #MSWL #Hallmark #OwnVoices #amwriting #publishing
Clelia Gore @MadmoiselleClel(3) PB bios that are sort of hybrids--they r delivering more than one kind of info. Can't think of a specific example (let me know if u do), but the story of a person + the info about the thing they did. E.g.--the story of a builder + then the science behind the thing they built
These three types of PB biographies are very interesting to me + I think help to push the genre forward. Time to rethink traditional PB bio writing! And when you land on something great (can be like the examples I gave in the thread)--send to me!! #mswl
NYT Obituaries @NYTObitsWomen have cleared many barriers in sports. But few exploits are as stunning — and shrouded in mystery — as the day Jackie Mitchell struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. nyti.ms/2DsFeVN
Actively looking for exciting, juicy inspirational romantic suspense manuscripts.
Opens with danger.
Thrill ride. Characters face danger throughout.
Juicy plot and conflict
Characters of faith.
No sex, cursing, drinking.
Erika W. Smith @erikawynnhow would you describe this genre of books because I love it: the Secret History, A Little Life, Brideshead Revisited, Special Topics In Calamity Physics. Books about beautiful smart pretentious way-too-close school friends who are surrounded by sexual tension, money, and death?
This genre is 🙌 and a perpetual #MSWL
Tips for Hallmark cozy mysteries:
- the police can be misdirected, but not inept
- an amateur sleuth should have good reasons why s/he has a particular knack for solving mysteries, and strong motivations for getting involved.

Susan Hawk @susanhawkHowdy, writers! Here's your reminder of our upcoming #AskUpstart session, 11/7 at Noon EST. And, in preparation for that, a note about the kind of manuscripts I'm hungry to see. First, MG and YA is where my head is these days. #MSWL
Right now, I'm particularly hungry for MG and YA. I want stories and characters that will surprise me! Something that feels new and fresh. I was tweeting about my #MSWL last week, so see more here: twitter.com/susanhawk/stat…
