the teeeeeeens are at it agaiiiiiiin theatlantic.com/technology/arc… pic.twitter.com/eKRyLCWTzA#MSWL These are the kinds of details that build a convincing, contemporary YA world. Teens are intertwined with digital communication, and they're secretive, which means they're going to figure this shit out on their own. So much to mine! Write it true.

If you have middle grade or YA project that feels like #OneDayAtATime with all of that amazing diverse representation, please send it my way. I’ll need to fill the hole created by its cancellation. #mswl

I need more books that use settings *as* characters as well. I love living histories! Places can d/evolve and have arcs of their own. Stories can happen *to* and not just *in* them. And exploring that doesn't have to be pigeonholed as worldbuilding alone. One of the things good gothic fantasy & claustrophobic scary spaceship stories have in common is that they both do setting-as-character well.
Really, any setting can be made to feel like a character. Creepy castle? Floating city? Jungle that *devours* people? YES.
Anyway—#mswl!

Just saw the phenomenal (and hilarious!) @crucet read from Make Your Home Among Strangers and am reminded that we need more novels about first-in-family navigating college, especially from poc voices #MSWLPutting this out into the universe again. I would love to see more novels about POC navigating a college campus #mswl

Kids around the US are ditching school on Friday to call out adults for not doing enough on climate change buzzfeednews.com/article/zahrah…“When you don't have anything other than your voice, you have to use it,” Haven Coleman, a 12-year-old striker in Denver, Colorado. “We have to fight for our future because adults aren't doing anything.”
These kids are incredible. I'd love to find a story with this voice. #MSWL

Alexander II of Russia assassinated #OTD 1881. Alexander III became Emperor and placed most trust in his brother Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, who stood "at the top of the homosexual pyramid" of Russia (there were at least 7 gay grand dukes at the time) #QueerVAM #YearOfQueers pic.twitter.com/4oSIGHCkdO

While I’m more partial to (keylime and apple) pie than pi, I sure do love a fun math book that might have had me loving math more as a kid. In honor of Pi Day tomorrow, I'd love something like BEDTIME MATH or for MG like MISCALCULATIONS OF LIGHTNING GIRL #WishlistWednesday #MSWL

I have been rereading CODE NAME VERITY for the first time since my initial flurry of passion for it, and I still have the same reaction: good Jesus Christ what a VOICE.My #mswl always includes historical fiction, but I want to have *this* reaction to it. I want a voice that's vibrant and ALIVE, that feels immediately like a person I could know, that makes the quiet parts feel intimate and the stakes feel personal.
