I love MG. I want stories that cover important topics like being first gen, and poverty, and homelessness, as well as our classics. But voice is key. Some of my favorite authors are J. Anderson Coats, Melanie Crowder, Lauren Wolk, Kelly Yang. #MSWL #MG

I love a good quirky, fun, voicey MG. I talk about FOVEA MUNSON all the time, but that book really is peak Nat some days. #MSWL #MG

I love historical fiction, but I am picky. Because I want to see a historical voice. I love Ruta Sepetys for this reason. Give me histories I have never seen, give me view points never known. Immerse me in the setting, and culture. #MSWL #YA #MG

What I am looking for here is fantasy that is high concept, but beautifully written. All these authors I read in 1 sitting, ignoring everything. I want a fantasy where I ignore the world. Make it stand out and feel like I have never seen these elements before. #MSWL #YA #MG

Speaking of Sabaa, I want cinematic fantasy. What do I mean by that? High concept, sweeping, almost grand like a movie in your head. Sabaa does this wonderfully, but so does Marie Rutkoski, Sarah J. Maas, Tahereh Mafi, Laini Taylor. #MSWL #YA #MG

We didn’t really celebrate #EarthDay when I was young, though the holiday has actually existed since 1970. Glad we’re now using reusable containers for my kids’ lunches instead of all those brown bags! I’d love to see #MG #NF about the story behind Earth Day #MSWL #WishWednesday
