When I say I’m looking for real life horror, this is what I mean #mswl

Horror is my favorite genre, so I'm open to all ages (& she gets her own graphic). I want gritty final girls, monsters, unique settings that are the horror, tropes flipped upside down, scream but even gayer, and a dash of hope at the end. Got ghosts? SEND 'EM. #MSWL (3/6)

I'm not participating in PitDark, because I have some exciting news! I will be opening to queries for the first week in November (1-7) to diverse own voices ONLY. Starting January 2025, I'll open the first week of every month to everyone. #MSWL (1/6)

For horror: try me with anything and everything, I am eager to expand my YA horror list!

In adult horror, I am more a fan of the psychological than the monstrous, unless the monster is a metaphor. I would love something darkly comic; I would love something in the vein of BOY PARTS.

Romantasy is fine but the fantasy elements MUST be strong! 2. Horror: Psychological and paranormal horror in particular but will consider slashers. Love gothic horror. Generally not fazed by gory content.

#MSWL TL;DR:

[1/3] edgy, voice-driven book club fiction with a fresh, commercial hook; anything speculative—magical realist, horror, sci-fi, dystopian, you name it, especially with a feminist bend!

Very much still looking for horror in the adult, YA and MG space! Also, humorous mystery a la Only Murders/Finlay Donovan is (still) hitting my sweet spot.

In adult and YA fiction, I'd love to see genre blends--particularly thriller + romance / horror + romance / horror + fantasy!
