Finally touched down in London, thinking that Bologna was SUCH a delight. The enthusiasm for Children’s across the board is so rejuvenating—it’s made me want more YA fantasy and crossover projects. I’m looking for fun, fresh, high-stakes, *clever* projects with a clear voice.

YA & MG:

(3/7) A spy or heist romance. Think Ally Carter meets Mr and Mrs Smith. High stakes, high intrigue, high glamour and a kick-ass/takes no sh*t protagonist! Morally grey "villains" and "heroes" actively encouraged!

High-stakes middle grade fantasy and adventure like SKANDAR AND THE UNICORN THIEF; THE SWIFTS; SMALL SPACES; and THE MARVELLERS.

High stakes, a lovable villain who continues the unfinished work of their predecessor, enemies teaming up against the big bad, denial, sisterhood, and lots of wind. So, so much wind.

My main jam is thrillers, so I’d love to see more in this area. This includes horror (supernatural horror, not slasher horror), mystery, suspense, domestic thriller, psychological, etc. Fast-paced, high tension, high stakes, please! Ghosts & haunted houses are a huge draw for me.

Romantasy is a bit of a new space, but I want stories that are steeped in folklore and mythology.
I’d like to see magical academies (Think THE MAGICIANS or FOURTH WING), pirates, intense and lush world building, and romance with high stakes.

MG fantasy! Big worlds, high stakes, do-or-die moments and tons of peril. I would love something here that feels incredibly ambitious and cinematic, with a core gang of characters I'd dying to be part of.
